Did anybody ever post a comparison of Orpheus vs Hachirin vs whateverelse (Sacro Cord/Skyrmir+1 I guess) for GEO -ra spells?

These spells are rarely used, but when they are targets are tipically pretty close to you.
Assuming an average of 10 Emelental Affinity and a best case scenario of 15 elemental affinity, those should correspond roughly to ~10% and ~15% damage boost to any -ra spell, right?

Whereas Hachirin provides 10% for day, 10% for single weather, and 25% for double weather.
Which means that if you're in a situation of day+weather or doubleweather (i.e. scholar in pt) then Hachirin should > even best scase senario Orpheus, correct?

In all other instances even an average 10 elemental affinity (probably even lower) should be much better than any other available options like R15 Acuity+1, Skyrmir+1 and Sacro Cord (can't think of any other viable option)

Looking for more reliable opinions on this, I'm a bit of a big noob when it comes to magic damage calculations.

I don't mean to come off as dismissive here but tbh, spells are insanely easy to test. Go out with your GEO and a SCH friend, have them put weather on you, and cast the spell twice, once with the obi and once with the Orpheus. Pick the one with the higher damage.

Though I know some of my friends' lua (I think it's Selindril [sp]) automatically does all those calculations for you and puts the proper item on, so you can just ignore belt slot entirely.

You basically worked it out, in general it should go something like this (from highest to lowest dmg):

Double weather = obi
under 3' from target = sash
single weather + day = obi
under 8' from target = sash
single weather or day = obi

GEO... actually makes that normally simple nuke testing pretty annoying sometimes.

Basically.. watch out for cardinal chant. Your positioning relative to the mob can cause your results to fluctuate. If you want stable testing for GEO nukes, make sure the mob is north(or west, as long as you aren't doing MB) of you. East does MAB+, and south is magic crit.

I use Gada for fast cast. Cure potency easy to cap without either gada or daybreak.

Worth getting 1 with Indi-duration for entrust spells since idris doesn't apply on those. 2 if you want to do /nin or /dnc shenanigans and have almost 6 minutes on entrust.

Wouldn't Solstice be the better choice for indi duration?

Solstice is 15 seconds

Gada is up to 11% (aka >15 seconds)

depends on augment. Max roll w/out DM augments is 11% on fern stones, and according to BG, it's multiplicative instead of additive like it is for solstice.

Base duration is 180 seconds, so 10% is 18 seconds,

Also afaik applies after flat bonuses to duration.

Edit: that’s also why you should cast in 20% livestream cape and not ambuscade cape

Was wondering if anyone could share their Drain-TP set? Recently read you wanna balance accuracy and recast. New to the job, but fairly geared out and my team is aiming for Aminon.

Erra Pendant arguably better than +2 geo neck, but nice set.

Is it though? It doesn't seem like the Absorb effect applies to Abs-TP and 10+17 < 30 for macc.

It's 10 dark skill and another 17 macc, depends if you want more skill or 3 more macc. Same argument for Mani Earring (10 dark skill) or a 10macc earring.

I don't know for sure if the +absorb works on absorb-tp, likely not.

Personally I use Erra on HM Aminon. A mix of dark skill and macc works well.
