Final Resting Place

I remember seeing a screenshot a while ago of someone's character and they said "So-and-so's final resting place" because they were quitting ffxi. It made me want to ask, if you were going to quit ffxi for good, and wanted to make a little personal ceremony out of it by choosing a final resting place, what place would you choose to take that final knee? Take it even further if you want, what job would you be on and what gear would you wear?

Mine would be East Sarutabaruta, in the area where Spiny Spipi spawns. That zone was where I first leveled, had my first death, and Spipi was the first NM I camped. I'd be pld, and probably wear my Valor gear. I remember how excited I was to finally get that gear. I really miss those days. Dammit, now I made myself sad just thinking about.

I would post a tl;dr on why I'm quitting on ffxiah so I can get a bunch of no1curr pics.

...but to answer your post, I think I'd log out in a place where few people venture out to these days. Probably take a screenshot and label it as "The last thing I saw"

Sozus Rogberrys little room. Spent the better part of two years in there. Made a substantial amount of money from that little tonberry, I feel like I owe it to him. First knife came before I could even equip it. Last one came after they made the change, but never ever sold that first one, was such a trophy at the time.

When I left the game, I found myself in a conundrum. I wanted to log out in my mog house, because I'd spent so long decorating it and it was a restful place for me. But the last several times I logged in, it was in Jeuno for my limbus ls. I had wanted to help them kill a few more bosses before I left, because they'd helped me so much. I logged out for the last time next to the soap lady NPC. I always meant to log back in and go home to log out, but I find myself with this one little problem.

If I log in with the intent that it will be my last time, I get sad and weepy. When I think about quitting, I feel sad. But when I'm not playing, I have desire to log in. Nothing keeps me coming back to the game anymore, and I get irritated when I have to log in for things like limbus.

So, I don't want to log in because I don't want to play or continue spending money on a game that I don't play and don't want to play. But I don't want to think about quitting because that makes me sad. So I just logged out, not intending it to be my last log out, in the last place where I was together with my friends. If I ever come back, Sagheera will be my first familiar sight, I suppose.

I have until about the 20th of this month to change my mind, log back in, get weepy, depress all my friends, and go home for my last log out. But why intentionally make myself sad? I've already said my goodbyes, and Liela is perfectly at peace where she rests now, in Jeuno. *sniffle*

Edit: And anyways, Liela is already resurrected in FFXIV. :-) No sense going backwards when I have new worlds to explore and new bunnies to kick my scrawny bum!

I'm kinda the same way. I mean, I'm still playing, but when I think about having a defining "I quit" moment, I don't think I could do it.

I was thinking of logging out in the spot where I took my first pic: the top of the Drachenfall in North Gustaberg. I'll take one final picture there for a "then and now" sorta thing.

As for the job, I'm a little torn there. Since I arrived there as a little MNK wearing full Kenpogi, I might go back as MNK. However, years ago BLU became my favorite job by far and I'm leaning towards that. I'm not sure about gear yet. Head will almost certainly be either the Bonecrafting specs or Uk'uxkaj Cap. Would love to have some sort of Tessera Saio body piece by then.

It'll be a while, though. The main thing keeping me around (since I've outlasted nearly all of my friends) is completing SoA's missions. Jedd's final adventure needs a proper ending.

Final place for me woud like it to be at a VW rift. I'd stare at it and wonder what more could be deep inside. Then I'd enter the rift...The end.

Id go to Behemoth's Dominion, my best memories are with my old HNM LS. Everyday had tons of drama, some good some bad, but i was never really bored when i got to socialize with everyone daily. Outclaiming other ppl was so much fun too, w/o any evidence and withing 10s no matter who claimed someone always cried "Bot!" was hillarious. Was even better with SW/DI since all the king botters failed horribly at it since they couldnt bot claim something with at least a full PT there, they would pretty much die/lose claim within seconds in the ever tiny chance they did claim. Sad they killed it off though, no more golden days of XI. Be on PLD with w/e current TP set on and aegis+excalibur or burtgang on, love the job.

If I were to log in today (assuming my char wasn't deleted) I would probably be somewhere in Jeuno. Seeing as before I quit I would just wonder aimlessly around Jeuno.

I'd feed myself to Vrtra. I hear nobody visits him anymore and would sacrifice myself as a last snack.

My final log out point was in Bastok Mines, standing at the gate to Gustaberg, looking towards the AH. Waved goodbye to Vana'diel right where I began my adventure.

I'd choose Eastern Altepa Desert in my BST AF. Leveling there and finally getting Leave was one of the most exciting moments in the game for me because I could finally play BST as it was meant to be played.

I miss soloing NMs and throwing pet after pet at them knowing that any Charm could fail and I could end up eating dirt. Sure it sucked when you died (and I did often enough) but it was also so thrilling :)

Every-time I quit I log out in the same spot. Right next to the Bonanza Moogle.

Well there were a few places I had in mind before picking the place I did.

Sky: I had the most fun in there back at 75 I used to get lost in there a quite a lot so it would either be MG as that's the normal place id end up or the entrance the shrine. Me and a friend used to duo the statues by nuking them on our pups.

Nyzul isle floor 100: another event I liked doing back at 75 this one id probably be on blu in full relic probably. If it was Nyzul time I was always on blu. Don't open the spoiler if you don't know who Nyzul isle is.
Arrapago Remnants II: I ended up being in here quite a lot before I left id sit my arse down after killing the final boss. I would be on pup for this one.

Dyna-Xarc: Before they changed dream dyna to the new way I used to farm this a lot for my Aegis(first relic) id be on pld. I didn't pick this one as I didn't want crea turning into one of the fomors though I guess it would have been fun with him stalking other players in there.

Fire-Protocrystal: (The choice I picked) I was from Ifrit to start with and he was the first avatar I obtained at level 20 I logged out on smn as its my fav job. Theres a little story between XI and XIV with this Crea drifted around the Aether after being absorbed by the crystal and eventually landed in Eorzea. Ive got smn capped on XIV and with a relic +1 so its just liked he popped back out of the aether on smn and ready for a new adventure.
