Tbh I'm not sure how it's possible to have Kannagi beating Nagi. I have it with Sange up, which helps kannagi more than Nagi, chaos+56% and stp+70 COR rolls, boost str+25, -0% def vs Tojil using magma, agressor, berserk, innin, 1 march, 1 mad, 1 min, hasteII. Code
[Set DPS]
Nagi — 1299.214
Izuna — 1280.541
Tancho+1 — 1260.215
Kannagi — 1251.399
Raimitsukane — 1235.571
Kikoku — 1205.313
It all seems pretty close imo now with Taeon diminishing AM3 dominance over other wpn choices yet Mythic still best. I was more surprised about Kannagi and Kikoku tho and where they stand.
I outlined the stats I used in the DPS sheets if you want to duplicate. It might also be your gear choices though :P
My only nit-picks are -0% def on tojil isn't realistic. Samurai Roll might be realistic for you, and it does indeed cater a little more towards Nagi, but It's not been my experience with other DD's present. 99% of the time it's chaos + fighters.
Also, just curious, but you are adding +50% ODD to Kannagi in the first tab right? (you have to manually do it) I still have Kannagi with AM1 beating Nagi with AM3. The main point being that you can maintain AM1 100% of the time with Kannagi, and AM3 with Nagi isn't going to be a full-time thing. (hency why DPS suffers even further than DPS sheets are showing here)

Yeah that's why I edited thinking you maximized Kannagi then just swapped wpns around while I maximized Nagi doing same.
Quote: My only nit-picks are -0% def on tojil isn't realistic. fixed -15% now
Quote: Samurai Roll might be realistic for you, and it does indeed cater a little more towards Nagi, but It's not been my experience with other DD's present. 99% of the time it's chaos + fighters. SAM roll works for both mythics and non-Mythics while WAR roll diminishes Mythic AM3
Quote: Also, just curious, but you are adding +50% ODD to Kannagi in the first tab right? 30% cuz I rarely ever had AM3 up on Kannagi
If you're using Fighters roll over SAM roll then I guess that adds up cuz you're killing off Mythic AM3 with it
while at same time boosting Kannagi overall DPS.
Gonna give 29% Fighters roll rq and see if it improves thier DPS over stp+70 SAM roll.
Fighters Roll +29% over Samuai Roll +70 Code

Nagi — 1339.728
Izuna — 1387.484

Kannagi — 1419.104
Tanco+1 — 1417.504
Raimitsukane — 1390.760
Kikoku — 1368.702
Fighters no beuno! Chaos+SAM rolls onry unless need accuracy then Hunters+SAM roll imo.
Fighters doesn't work for anyone.

I dunno why Orestes had Nagi's dps so low when he showed his spreadsheets info, but I guess he's assuming nagi nin's will only use kamu, and his AM1 on kannagi has 50% ODD?

Btw I always input STP+70 and Chaos+56% into spread cuz even w/o the job in party, ie. sam for samurai roll, you can still get such buffs with 11 rolls 50% of the time. Using anything else is assuming your COR is gimp and clueless. The default rolls in spread are using such COR buffs.

I agree on Fighters roll. It's just a common roll that ends up happening in a lot of the groups I'm in. If we have 2 cor or a sam, we bust out sam's roll. I don't see much difference changing between the two rolls though.
For comparison sake though, it makes little sense to compare Kannagi with AM1 vs. Nagi with AM3. To be fair, you need to set them both to AM3.
I dunno why Orestes had Nagi's dps so low when he showed his spreadsheets info, but I guess he's assuming nagi nin's will only use kamu, and his AM1 on kannagi has 50% ODD? You may want to re-read my post. I'm not really sure what you're on about.
Quote: Nagi
AM3 Up, using Hi - 1275 DPS
AM Down, using Kamu - 884 DPS
AM Down, using Hi - 1174 DPS
1275 DPS is with AM3, spamming blade Hi.
Also..
Quote: Kannagi - using blade hi
AM3 up - 1367 DPS
AM1 up - 1305 DPS
AM Down - 1212 DPS
In the above, 1367 DPS is with AM3 (50% ODD) spamming blade Hi.
1305 is with AM1 - 30% ODD.

You do have a point. AM3 does boost Kannagi DPS and AM3 vs AM3 does seem more fair cept maintaining AM3 on Nagi is slightly easier than maintaining AM3 with Kannagi. Which the spreadsheet also doesn't take into consideration. Tbh I'm not really sure if maintaining AM3 even beats AM1 Blade:Hi spam using Kannagi due to doing less WS over saving TP to 3000 and personally I never tried bothering to do such. I just know Mythics are virtual trash w/o using AM3 and Emps are a different story.
If you have 3min to kill something with Kannagi. What's fastest kill using AM1 or AM3 assuming you're starting from 0tp? That I don't know.

Hopefully Nagi will pull ahead more once they actually buff Kamu like they were supposed to.
All this weapon talk is making me feel hesitant about building a Nagi. Haven't traded anything in yet

True, it doesn't make sense to use AM3 exclusively with an empy. There's a lot of situations where it's a hassle, and no doubt a hit to DPS. Particularly short duration fights like you mentioned.
The only time I bother with it, is for longer fights, VW, or when I've got Tact roll for whatever reason.

[TP Set]Acc/Att+20, ta+2, STR/DEX+7
[Blade:Hi Set]Acc/Att+20, Crit.Rate+3, Crit.Dmg+3
The way to go if making 2 different sets.
Kannagi with AM3 does do higher DPS on spread with Taeon tp set but it's WSA is 348pts less than Nagi's so subsequent SCD would suffer and also Kannagi Rounds/WS: 3.16 while Nagi Round/WS: 2.77 so....
Nagi WSD/SCD higher and WS faster maintaining AM3 easier while Kannagi AM3 only alters melee hit Double Dmg going from 30~50% and might not even be the best DPS in a 3min span for Kannagi itself. Then there's Izuna........
[Set DPS]Code
Nagi — 1532.765
Kannagi AM3 — 1534.456
Izuna — 1510.094
Kannagi AM1 — 1479.676
[WSA]Code
Nagi — 6071
Kannagi — 5723
Izuna — 6219
[Round/WS]Code
Nagi — 2.77
Kannagi — 3.16
Izuna — 3.03
Kannagi is an extremely good wpn and Taeon has diminished Nagi's superiority over it by alot but still, keeping things in perspective, I believe it's still Nagi > Izuna > Kannagi for reasons mentioned. Having both Kannagi and Nagi I'm still gonna aug Izuna cuz 1000tp spam it's boss and 3000tp I rather just stick with Nagi over Kannagi.
Also: Same case could be said for using Izuna over Nagi as well WSD+SCD w/o needing to maintain AM3

Code
Lugra+1 combo — 6071
Altdorf/Wilhelm — 5638
TP bonus/Wilhelm — 5642

Your dps results are resembling mine, but I can't get Izuna to beat Kannagi with AM1 no matter what I do. I'll fool with it some more today though. I'd like to try other targets, since Tojil can be pretty unique with his never-ending defense.
One thing that sucks, is the DPS sheets will allow ODD to affect other weapons if you leave it on. Gotta be careful!

Hi all,
which is more potent? Can someone try to check using the motenten spreadsheet before I burst out more gil:
taeon set: triple att +2 , wsd+2-3%
VS
taeon set: crit hit rate 2-3, wsd+2-3%??

I am by no means any pro with what the best dps is, but it seems that it would be more of a preference thing, where you could stack either/or.

Would recommend making a tp set and ws.
TP would ideally have STR/DEX, ATT/ACC, TA.
WS would ideally have Crit. Hit, ATT/ACC, Crit. DMG.
This will more then likely cost a bit of Gil assuming your buying all your stones. And with the empy update coming soon you might want to hold off dumping gil into two sets and maybe make one hybrid. Could do something like TA, Crit. DMG or WS DMG, ATT/ACC if you are going that route. Good luck!

I would aim for Crit Dmg or Crit Rate 3%, and TA+2% with as much attk/acc as you can get. Both the crit stats return about the same DPS, and they're very good for both TP and blade hi.

I had to double triple check and since the Bluegartr thread I was following conflicted w/ the Bgwiki aug info I second guessed myself twice but after trying, it is indeed possible to have....
Acc/Att+20, Crit.Rate+3, Crit.Dmg+3
Which for Blade:Hi beats all other augs easy.

After blowing about 20-30m worth of dusk stones, I'm fairly confident that the highest DMG value that can be had on Izuna is +13. I've gotten this value 5 times, and never anything higher. Unless somebody can confirm something larger than 13, I'm going to assume that is the cap for Izuna. (Lame, considering other weapons with comparable or lower delay have higher values reported.)

Seen a JP in town with DMG+15 and beforehand came to the conclusion that such was obtainable cuz I know someone w/ DMG+15 on the dagger Ipetam. Seeing the JP only confirmed it tho idk what is max and if you urself used +2 stones? Not even sure which would be best to use Dusktip+2 or Duskslit+2.

Check the node maintained by Orestes, or use the link from my post on page 1 of this guide.
There is a lot of useful information in the last few pages here as well. Good luck on gearing up~
