Pardon the necroquote.
Fenrir.Sylow said: » 師 itself means 'expert' or 'master.' In FFXI, we use 士 for "shi" While it's more relevant to use 師 to any academic related job, I think it's derived from 騎士or戦士 I hate you.

lol got me excited for a second
Best part is the quote was in reference to upgraded mage jobs in other FFs, not Rune Fencer.

Should be a bannable offence to necrobump posts like this with no new info :(

Three purple titles on the front page, all false alarms.

I wouldn't say it's the only way...
That it force them to not be able to dual weild and not be able to weild any shields. If not you can be certain that people will dual weild because it would be better.
Fencing can be done with greatswords.

If this one uses great swords, i don't think they could call it a fencer or any form of the term. bst isn't A+ in axe, katana isn't A+ for nin... just sayin'. No job is A+ in club or staff either. Also DW isn't always the best option. You need enough natively or sub to make it worthwhile. Goes back to the joyeuse example on cor. Better to single wield it, than DW it with something else. I was mistaken, but what I meant was that great sword was not the main job for most jobs. But most of the time dw or sheild wins.
Edit:thus the lack of a gs mythic. Great sword is no job's highest skilled weapon. RUN will be the first job to 'main' a greatsword.
Look up fencing claymores. There is a fighting style that uses two handed swords to parry and grappel. It is not fencing in the modern term, but it still counts.

With this whole main great sword thing, I really hope they introduce some low level great swords. The ONLY lvl 1 great sword currently not related to a quest is the rusty great sword, and the level 5 is DRK specific. The don't sell on the AH much cause they are fished up of course. That being said, I am curious to see if the price of great swords change and Shell V goes way up for a bit.

I personally hope this is the case with the great sword since imo it would be better then a rusty great sword. Most of the job quests tend to give you something to help you out but weapons tend to be a rare one. |
