Ok, got a question. As a starting out Blue, what spells are worth picking up and what ones can really be ignored unless I want to be a completionist.
All of them.

Take a look at the spells used in the sets on the first page- get those first, then go for the rest. This answer changes a little if you're not just abyssea burning 30--->99.

Ya, plan on leveling Blue normally without any major burns outside of just naturally doing books.

So uh...with these new weapons around, Requiescat now trumps CDC? The answer to this has been eluding me for a while, and I was quite cynical of Requiescat to begin with when it came out :x

Well, you can't use CdC with any of the new ones. :p

How would Club + Realmrazer compare to Sword + Resquiescat?

130D club + realmrazer compared to the 109D sword or w/e the *** it is should be close, if not club+realmrazer pulling ahead.

And I imagine Vorpal Blade wouldn't be any better lol >_>

Motherfuck, guess I gotta split my WS merits between Realmrazer and Requiescat, then. Either that or I just drop Entropy to 1, Req to 5/5 and Realm 4/5 x_x

Like I've posted before, Realmrazer has about ~87.7% of the base damage than Requiescat has as well as lower natural skill, however it does not suffer from an attack penalty and the club has a higher D than the sword. If nothing else the club is the best offhand weapon you can get prior to the Delve Naakual weapon, at which point you offhand the Plasma sword and mainhand the Naakual one.

Alright, so Buramenkah mainhand and Halachuinic Sword as sub-hand then?

Sorry if my reading comprehension's off here, the introduction of Mondaha has thrown off my BLU a bit, heh

No, because you're also using Ocelomeh hat, and that adds a set bonus of triple attack to it.

Looking at it I'm willing to say maybe Halachuinic main, Club off.

Why couldn't this be as awesome as it sounds.

Does the clubs really high delay bump it down any?

Updated the guide to version 2.0, switching it over to node format. Everything is now in one post and it now includes some extra formatting bits. Links aren't working atm, need to find out why and I'll fix them when I do. fix'd

With the delve and naakul nms having extremely high evasion and strong AoEs would the return of BLU/THF be viable?

Seems unlikely, but from reading back, perhaps it's situational

Anyone have a fairly updated cannonball set?

Edit: Also I read on the wiki talk page that the def caps at 700. Is that true?

Assuming they weren't just being stupid, what they may have meant to say was that on the content at the time of the comment, cannonball's attack was capped when defense was at about 700- which is maaaaaaybe true.

How much defense it takes to cap Cannonball's attack isn't limited by any arbitrary number and will be dependent on monster defense. Obviously at 99, that will be a bit higher than was at 75.

i love this guide and have promoted it to all people who aspire to be a blu, however im not sure i see the benefit to the 2.0 version. forgive me if im wrong, but from what i can tell i have to click on each set now to find out what it has in it. while you do get more information this way it takes a lot more time to follow each link when you want to see if anything has been updated. if its not working as intended than disregard, but if this was your intention, could you display the sets back in on page 1 for ease of accessing information?

thanks again for all the work you have put into this guide and others like it. you have really helped me personally and many many blus out there.

Is cannonball even relevant with Benethic Typhoon and Vanity Dive? Since we're going /THF in delve now, was wondering if Athos tabard with the Crit dmg+ and stats would beat out the slight D increase with Magus+1 for Typhoon and Dive without CA on?

it's a bug not a feature, and there's nothing I can do about it until it's fixed. if you have to use the spoilers go to ffxiah.com/node/25 they work there

My BLU is fairly gimp. I had a reasonable amount of gear for cannonball already, so I was using it while BLU/THF. Also for the range so I didn't get murdered by AoE.

just use your usual STR/VIT set. No real swaps that can be made to enhance cannonball specifically.
