You can lose the ability to buy the new reive armor? Bummer. I'm assuming the coalitions run similar to the 3 nation conquest updates?

On the guide, the nuking gear, he lists the possible body swaps as Praeco doublet/Spurrina doublet, but not Teal Saio. I'm currently using Teal Body. Does the +6 INT/MND really beat +4 MAB from Teal?

Edit: Also, what do you suppose is better in general? 16 INT vs 5 INT + 3 MAB?

16 int > 5 int 3 mab for sure. But as a general rule of what's better?

It's hard to say exactly because mab is weird and depends greatly on how much you have and what atmas you are using.

I'd be tempted to give a general rule to go by but I'd need to break out the spreadsheet and a calculator and I think it'd be best to leave that to the math people.

Praeco doublet/Spurrina doublet most likely have different uses other than nuking gear.

Praeco doublet can be used as a requiescat piece and thus saves inventory by offering that, rather than using extra inventory up for a nuke piece on its own Same again with Spurrina, it can double as a Sanguine Blade piece.

Atleast, I think it was mentioned by proth, that these sets were made with inventory space in mind as well.

That's one of the reasons I want to get rid of Teal if it's equal to or less than Praeco, but I also really don't want to downgrade my already sub-par gear.

Given the ratio cap increase, does blu skill weigh a little heavier now in our physical sets? Would you main the AF2+2 head now for basically all spells?

Not really. The sets have always assumed that blue attack wouldn't be capped.

Well assumptions only get one so far, ya? Has anybody done testing with the new ratio to see if sets actually changed? I realize the update is still in it's infancy so perhaps testing hasn't been done yet.

Why would they change? He just said the sets assume blue magic attack is not capped, so with a higher ratio, why would things be any different? If you weren't capping before, you certainly aren't now. The benefit of increasing blue magic attack is the same as before.

The only different situation would be against low level mobs where your blue magic attack might be capped. In that case, you would actually use 'less' blue magic skill.

OK, fair enough. I guess I just wasn't grasping that. But the way you worded it makes more sense to me, so I appreciate it.

Seriously?

Have been doing it wrong for an entire year now. Great. Anyone have spellcast rules to lock those slots when under the effects of the corresponding JA? Or is it already in the xml from the OP and I just didn't notice?

<if spell="Efflux">

Puts them on for precast and locks them in for casting when the JA is active. Ignore the formatting, that was a copy/paste thing :l

Similar but this is what I use:
Code xml
<if Spell="Chain Affinity" Mode="OR" BuffActive="Chain Affinity">
		<equip when="ALL"><head lock="True">Mavi Kavuk +2</head></equip>
		<cmd>input /echo mavi head locked.</cmd>
	</if>
	<if Spell="Efflux" Mode="OR" BuffActive="Efflux">
		<equip when="All"><legs lock="True">Mavi Tayt +2</legs></equip>
		<cmd>input /echo mavi pants locked.</cmd>
	</if>
	<if Spell="Burst Affinity" Mode="OR" BuffActive="Burst Affinity">
		<equip when="All"><feet lock="True">Mavi Basmak +2</feet></equip>
		<cmd>input /echo mavi feet locked.</cmd>

If you have the your Kavuk, Tayt and Basmak rules after your normal spell swaps, it will "over lap" so you don't need to use locks. Something I learned while banging my head over my old WAR xml years ago..

EDIT:

You only need to have the buffactive rule. Having it in mode "or" and spell=JA, will make you equip Kavuk, Tayt and Basmak and lock it before using the JA, during TP phase and for the spell. The problem arises if you don't use a spell right away, you will be TPing with it on. These are the rules I use to avoid that problem,
Code xml
<if buffactive="Chain Affinity" Element="Unknown" ValidTarget="Enemy">
	<action Type="equip" when="Precast"><head>Mavi Kavuk +2</head></action>
</if>

it's not in the op, but it is pretty standard for af3 bonuses. what surprises me is its not listed on either bg or wiki pages for tayt +2.

There's only a couple of pieces of armor that don't work this way really. WAR relic feet as an example, some mythics... most pieces require on cast/during duration for them to work.

for the most part, anything added during and after abyssea acts that way as well as things like partial set bonuses. it seemed before that it was pretty standard for a ja that just went off like meditate only had to be on for ja use, and things that had a duration like souleater had to stay.

When I wrote them I wasn't sure which it was so I did both, but it's never caused any problems because I only hit CA and Efflux directly before I cast. But it is nice that I could make it more simple now.

Got a Nemetona Cap finally, wondering if it's better than Ocelomeh +1 hat with Toci's for this set.

ItemSet 270424

I wouldn't think so because I lose 1% haste and can't use thurandaut gloves as well.

I'm leaning on no heavily you lose 3% TA and the 1 haste you mentioned

28% haste in your current set, should be easy to just switch out dusk +1 for the thur gloves; if you meant specifically that you don't have thur gloves then you also lose 13 dex from switching over to nemetoma.

I can definitely understand the feeling of wanting to use your cap, I just got mine also but it's more applicable when you have your thamaus coat for tp and on mobs that your dDex is capped on.

Ok so I'm being told that I'm doing something wrong by some of my ls members if the new Naakual sword will beat my 85 Almace with CdC and need me to replace it and get Req. So I just want to check one more time before I choose to waste 100k bayld on the KI to fight the Trex. I have no clue how you guys figure out what turns up as better (I assume magic and praying to dark gods) but it could be some spread sheets or some dps simulator but idk where those are and the ones I do for other jobs idk how to use them.

Almace 85 and CdC ----vs---- Camatlatia and Req
SC is CdC > Amorph -------- SC is Req > Quad Cont.
Sets inside the spoiler thingy.
Also any help that isn't on the front page for these sets would also be welcome.

The fact that they're being enough of *** to tell you you're wrong for not having access to a weapon from a brand new NM is stupid.

Other than that, yes, Proth has done the maths and demonstrated that Camatlatia will be superior to 85 and 90 Almace, competitive with 95, but worse than 99. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I can remember.

Trust me, it makes me sad too. CDC is so much cooler than Requiescat. Don't forget about the new sword from skirmish either. That thing looks to be massively dangerous for Almace users.
