Bst has always been about personal prefrence. I have several sets, but 2 pet pdt axes, any other axes are prefrence, glyph to get tp before a bcnm, +str for ruinator, pet eva to utilize dippers evasion and falcor ( if he still has any). Main setup would be all that helps your pet, -10damage taken for pet and haste(or regen) on the moogle miniexp, pet crit/attack on acp, and the af3 +2 legs and feet, onerios back, moepapa belt, (monster gloves+2 for call beast). Then get ogre gloves, monster feet+2, khimaira or war bonnet, ferine earring, for reward set, look up the bonuses and get close to50% reward+ then stack mnd in other slots. I know i missed alot, but that should give you an idea on where to start. Like i said bst is personal prefrence ive seen lolgear on bst back in the ole 75 days do as well as those pimped out. Back then bst solo camps were same place parties would level 10 levels off. Have fun with it and ask some bst you see running around not wearing the simple gear and they probably will help out more. If you want big dd numbers twilight set and af3+2 will be sufficient. The best gear nowadays is either vw or legion which vw dont like bst and ive not tried legion yet. I suppose new nyzul as well, but i havent done that either. Good luck

For pure DD I kind of want to play around with this since I merited scythe/entropy D:

BST can be a DD machine when it comes to fodder mobs so its sometimes best to max the master potential and just snarl to keep the mob off you.

Have a different set for if you just want the pet doing all the fighting.

If you can afford to weaken your pet a little bit and want to fight along side it you can still cap your haste with: this and this and this.

Reward, fill the rest in with mind if you want max healing. The feet should be augmented as well. As for losing tp from axe swap, just do right after a weapon skill and its not that big of a difference.

And finally ruinator:

There might be better stuff from the new updates but haven't really bothered to really look at them as far as BST is concerned.

General TP

Pet tanking while I'm meleeing (mostly used on Abyssea NM's and tougher mobs. Inside swap in Shep Chain/Oneieros Cappa when DG latent not triggered.

Pet doing everything. Swap in Ferine Mantle/Neck if pet not getting too beat up. Adaman have pet haste +3 subtle blow +5. Will pop in Beast Bazubands in the hand slot if i could ever find the damn NM up/get a TOD :|

Reward. Gaiters +2 Zorral Ja axe and Oger gloves will hit 50% cap then stack MND in the open slots.

Ruinator

This should be enough to get by for starters. I personally have pet -MDT and self eva/-pdt sets in the works.

In that set you are pretty much favoring your own damage over your pet's.
Sure, you can have your pet hold some of the hate through snarl, but when you go all out on your char with capped haste and all, you will notice hate turning back on you pretty fast, which is why people tend to opt for an "all pet damage" build, while leaving the major task of procing mobs (namely in Dynamis) to the master.

Pets can pull out some very respectable damage if you work on a pet build, and you can always contribute by working on a fine WS set for the master. Not to mention the fact that pets have access to AoE or fan shape procs, whereas the master doesn't.

I would work on 2 Pdt axes for that matter, so you can take advantage of your pet's high Pdt and hold multiple mobs to proc, then leave it to the pet to finish them off while you go hunt for more.

@Nikia

your TP set is the same as mine, aside from I use oneiros ring instead of rajas, and AF3 feet.

Ring choice is pretty standard. If you have MP merits you could use Oneiros too in place of Rajas. I doubt the 5 stp on it would affect your build to 100 TP. You should swap in Rancor collar in place of Portus also, and make STR axes if you want to play offensively. I'd probably also swap Phorcys Mitts in place of Nomkampa since they'd give you just 1 less DA but a more STR and good Atk

Nomkahpa only give 3% DA, and Phorcys mitts give 2% DA so you only lose 1 DA but gain 4 STR (+set bonus) and 15 atk. Even without Nomkahpa you are still at 25 % Haste. Since you have no MP merits you can simply stick to Rajas. As for Portus collar, the 5% crit rate from Rancor is usually better.

This is the set i'm aiming for gives plenty of DA some TA and QA and gives me haste cap at 26%, the Ganelon is gonna give +11 DA. I have most of the but not all of it but with what i got i have noticed i gain tp a lot faster then i normally do. And when i complete my ruinator set i will be able to do a lot more dmg, only trouble is i do pull a lot of hate of pet, the worst part is when i ws and get hit by a tp move before i have chance to snarl.

This is gonna be my ruinator set when i can get the gear.

Someone told me in a previous thread not to sacrifice accessory slots for one percent haste. During the tp phase, a rancor collar will add a reasonable amount to your DPS over 1% haste.

I was thinking of puting the DA neck but looks hard to get, but you are right there are better options then using the 1% haste

I use this for ruinator I'd replace my belt with wanion belt, I've heard tp bonus isn't as huge on ruinator as other ws's. @dometig The set you wanted lost alot of DA on the hands and legs, if i changed dilarams into the +2 feet id have 15% DA on ws yours had 6% but i wouldnt use myrmex over phorcys hands though. The legs idk what augments it gets, i assume 3% ws though bg doesnt have it listed which would be better. OF course i need better weapons for DD i figured id go with str/OA2-4 heard the Oat2-4 is easy but time consuming.

OAT is a useless offhand because of delay to proc rate. For TP spam you use a KC. Ruinator is heavily modified by FTP making elemental belt a better option.

Pyrosoul over Rajas, and use AF3+2 hands until Phorcys.

@Nikia
The only thing I would say for what you are doing is to go for ferine feet. they beat out phorcys for melee.

the biggest problem you will run into for DD on bst is that you do not have ruinator. Rampage is your next best damage WS and the critical nature of it makes it vary a grate deal. Outside of abyssea it is not so great. I don't remember exactly, but I think the bst I've seen w/ it might be 2700 outside abyssea. I don't have trouble averaging 3k w/ Ruinator. Ruinator is one of the best of the merit WS's.

Professoroak's Ruinator set is almost perfect.
The only thing better would be if you have full Killer effects/killer instinct active, you will want ferine body and hands instead.

This is my current Dynamis set up (optimizing master and pet haste):

In this scenario, my options to capping haste would involve either swapping Ridill for Tjukurrpa axe, or either mix matching Hasty pinion (Oneiros cluster is somewhat out of reach at the moment), Blitz ring, or Tiercel necklace. Hasty pinion or swapping Rajas for Blitz will kill a lot of STP, so I'm trying to avoid that.. but I'm also working on my DA axe for offhand. What do you guys think?

This is my current Ruinator set:

If I ever finish my damn DA axe, I'd have around 34% DA rate on WS.

*Heca cap has DA+4 CHR+4 INT+3, Armadaberk has DA+3 STP+5 Resist sleep +3, Armada mufflers has Haste+4 DEX+4 AGI+5, and Armada sollerets has Pet: Haste+4 DEF+8 Subtle Blow+6
