While plan parenthood as an organization does receive public funding it does not devote any of those public resources to abortions and that is legaly mandated. They actually have to show on their books that this is true so it is a lie when anyone says that abortions are publicly funded anywhere in the states. Some people would like you to believe just because they are publicly funded that this allows them to stay afloat and therefore able to do it in the first place but thats another story. When people come out and say that abortions are publicly funded though that is a flat out lie lol.
That's what I referred to as "accounting tricks". OF COURSE the funding goes to abortions. If the books were audited it would be patently obvious. It all goes into the cost of operations and wink-wink nod-nod goes into the books the way that hides the details.

No, what we realize is that Congress has ZERO authority to tell an insurance company what it must cover, and is EXPLICITLY PROHIBITED from telling a religious institution that it must pay for something to which it is diametrically opposed. Not only that, but saying the BC is just spread into the risk pool and magically disappears is akin to saying "the taxpayers don't pay for it, the government does." Additionally, when (and if) Obamacare sets in it WILL be spread to all taxpayers.

Not the religious institution mess again.

Churches and other houses of worship are NOT mandated to provide birth control for their employees however when a church wants to operate as a business and hire people who may not share the faith guess what? You gotta do what other businesses do and provide for employees.

Enough of that however. You've made your points and have yet to come to any solutions on what you feel should be done. Illuminate us.

You don't want to pay for other peoples birth control/sex ed? - Fine, you can pay for their kids on welfare.

I could, and want one, but personally I am not ready for one. I'm not taking your comments personally, I just find the idea that opposing people who can't afford BC BC because you don't want to pay for it, while you don't have a problem paying for a lot worse and more expensive stuff, confusing. I'm trying to figure out what's making your mind come to this conclusion.
Well you were using your own situation to defend people in different situations. I said it makes good financial sense, but the idea that by choosing whether we pay a little for someone or a lot for them is not a situation we should be proud of, nor should we use that as a starting point to pay for ALL BC for all women. Additionally, we are creating a generation of people who think that everything they think they need or want is someone else's responsibility. Those same people then keep telling anyone who will listen how strong and independent they are. It's like we are raising a generation of American Idol auditionees who are tone-deaf as hell and think they sound like Whitney Houston.

It's an example. Geez...Ever heard of anecdotes? Some people do use their personal experiences to formulate their opinions. Some of us don't ingest the garbage on Fox News.

Paying for birth control is exponentially better than paying for programs like Medicaid. Yeah...I agree. I don't like knowing that I'm paying for some fifteen-year-old tramp to start a family when I'm at the age where I would like to start my own, but why not give young girls Ortho-Evra, Ortho-Tricyclin, etc.? It's better than the alternative. Another goofball who is receiving medical care, food stamps, and the list goes on...to support a kid that she is in no way mentally prepared for?

Unless there's something to replace that education of course it's going to go up..

Can you show that the education that was cut out was replaced, in equal proportions, with something else? I mean if they cut out speed traps, you can reasonably assume speeding and accidents will go up as well..

Citation needed, because that's a crock of ***.

You really dont need a citation for this. He's right. even with condoms STI's can still be transferred. And im not talking via penetrative intercourse.

Giardia Lamblia can be contracted via oral to anal/vaginal route.
Gonorrhea can be contracted via oral to phallic route. And infect the throat!
Syphilis can be contracted via oral to phallic route.
Herepes(genital) and HPV also.
HIV is really low via oral so i wont include that.

Most individuals do not use dental dams or condoms when performing oral sex so yes abstinence does reduce STI's moreso than condoms.

Like seriously ask a guy when the last time he used a dental dam on a female and he'll prolly go huh!?

Do you even understand the constitution or do you just throw it around because you "think" it supports your way of thinking... Just like you seem to throw around the word socialism without fully understanding it.

Here is the silly part about all of this. The whole thing is about mandating insurance plans to cover birth control. However if you have insurance in most cases, unless you're on medicaid, health insurance costs anywhere from 100+ a month, and 100$ is on the extreme low end.

So just for an example, if your insurance is 1200$ a year, and your copay is 10$ per refill, you're looking at 1320$ a year. With no insurance, you can get birth control for 10-15$ at walmart, target, wherever quite easily. If you're on medicaid of course then you should go to a free clinic, (and most free clinics will give you contraceptives without any paperwork for free.

The entire discussion about birth control deals solely with mandating it to be part of insurance plans. Seems to me that women have plenty of options to get BC at a more affordable price than even going through the hassle of insurance in the first place.

It does show the interesting dichotomy (is that the word?) in the different schools of learning: learning by punishment and learning by preparation.

He wants these people to *** up and learn from those *** and suffer through it, or that's at least what he's coming across as.

The lot of others don't want them to *** up, but admit that a lot of people make those *** anyways, and we should give them the tools to deal with the ***they're about to enter in anyways.

I don't want to pay for birth control, honestly, but I know that it would greatly help the people around me that need it, and I would never deny another human being the right to the tools that could make the difference between a ruined life and a great life.
