"Are Women People?"
domestic violence isn't just limited to spouses, couples or even physical contact, i had an abusive room mate situation about 6 years ago, that psychological bs is though tougher to prove domestic violence as well.
Has America run out of poor brown people to fight? Is this why they are now hating on women?

I am aware of this. I was referring to the out of proportion male abuser-female victim statistics as a single example of, "Yes, women are being killed." I was drugged just a couple days ago. I mask my pain with randomness and ADHD. Police are reviewing bar footage to see if they can see what happened, doctors will send me information when I see my doctor on Tuesday. I was hit with a mescaline dose years back, made it so all I could move was my eyes and I couldn't make any noise. I had friends with me then, thank god. Had friends the other day, too. I was drinking a non-alcoholic drink, and suddenly I was just hammered. I don't remember anything afterward. Friends told me I was approached several times by a few men who really wanted me to leave with them, so that's who the police are looking for. God knows what would have happened to me.
As a result I am more skittish than usual, my kidneys really hurt, and I'm overall depressed. And they didn't even strike me. Violence and Woman abuse is a real thing, and it's terrifying. I maintain, however, that we are all robots. :) inb4: "but this happened to a man one time so your experiences are invalid stfu u don't know what ur talkin about """""war on women"""" loldumbasss"
Eh, think ill dip out of the conversation after this one, not saying in the least that physical domestic abuse should be ignored, but that the psychological type is just as common and in many ways more damaging, though the type to physically strike also demean in order to entrap so yeah they often go hand in hand.
Physical abuse is also psychological.
Kai that's a horrible story. Which also occurs with women-as-victim in an out of proportion number of cases. Even considering that men are less likely to report instances of abuse (people in general are reluctant to report domestic violence, though), women are still far ahead in the numbers. Don't dwell on this, however, as it is just one of many examples. Phoenix.Sehachan said: » Physical abuse is also psychological. Using somes "fews" examples of womens getting more salary or being stronger then mens isn't going to make the whole argument look better. Also why is that so shocking if a women get better salary in somes situations? do i smell a stinky sexist mentality over there? Sexism is a major problem for the womens still now, you will alway see articles or newspapers talking bout womens being killed & raped more then mens being so. Also someone mentionned the sex change in this thread? really? woooosh! Just to interject;
http://www.eworldwire.com/pressrelease/17670 Women commit comparable or even greater amounts of domestic violence, however misandrist stances in society lead you to believe that only men can possibly be violent and women are always innocent. Women are my favourite kind of people. Wether cooking or in the sack, cant fault them.

Misandry isn't valid as social concept. It is used either satirically or by deluded extremists. Moving on. Study is interesting, but just about every other one I've seen rejects these findings. It's also important to consider how the violence is received/committed. Why isn't misandry valid? If misandry isn't valid, neither is misogyny.
@jinjo Is misogyny a valid social concept?

I maintain, however, that we are all robots. :) I have two male friends who had the same exact thing done to them. One of my friends went to Vegas and was at a bar really late. A WOMAN (GASP!) was all over him and one of his friends. She dosed his drink and stole his phone and wallet. Another one of my male friends got dosed at a gay bar. But his friends were there and got him out of there before the guy who dosed him could do anything. I hate to break it to you, but bad things happen to everyone. Not just women. Also let's not even go into the fact that woman get less prison time for the same crimes as males, the whole custody and divorce thing and the entire double standard when it comes to woman having sex with younger and underage males. Lakshmi.Jesi said: » Also let's not even go into the fact that woman get less prison time for the same crimes as males, the whole custody and divorce thing and the entire double standard when it comes to woman having sex with younger and underage males. Misandry is valid on an individual level. However, social structures do not exist that disempower men because they are men.
Honestly, if it doesn't make sense to you, you probably aren't going to get it during the duration of this forum topic. ps- in after: "but this happened to a man one time so your experiences are invalid stfu u don't know what ur talkin about """""war on women"""" loldumbasss"
Lakshmi.Jesi said: » and the entire double standard when it comes to woman having sex with younger and underage males. On men vs. women, girls get away with quite a bit that would not be tolerated by men. I can't tell you the number of females I know that will pitch a hell-cat fit if their boyfriend wants to go have drinks with the guys, but the millisecond that she wants to go hang with the girls and he objects, he's overbearing, smothering, too possessive, etc etc. (Obviously that's just one example from one side. Men and women both have their problems and they both need to relax.)
I've never, not once, had a man seriously tell me to get in the kitchen. Will my husband joke about it sometimes? Yes. Usually only if I bring it up first. And it's a joke. By the way, I'm an awesome sandwich-maker. ~.^ Equal pay is only for if the job is done equally by both. I worked at a greenhouse awhile back, and while I was perfectly good at transplanting, weeding, labeling seedlings, and the like, I could not pick up the fruit trees or mature rosebushes and move them or put them in customers' vehicles likes we were supposed to. The fruit trees weighed over half my body weight and I just simply couldn't do it. The men who worked there could do it, and they got paid more, and that was fair. If I can't do the same job, I don't deserve the same pay. The only thing that bothers me about the whole silly thing is contraception. It's perfectly natural to have sex. I'm sorry, but it is. And while the main purpose of sex is reproduction and therefore the continuation of the species, that's certainly not all it's used for. Sex is relaxing, can help you if you are stressed, releases endorphins to help make you happy, makes you feel physically and emotionally more connected to your partner, even aids in sleeping. Now, I can understand not wanting a bunch of 14-year olds having sex all over the place. But by the time people are 17 or 18 or 19, they should be free to experiment. This type of experimentation is a healthy, natural thing. Denying them that, mostly in the name of a religion, is not terribly healthy for them. And making everyone, religious or not, live under the rules of religion, is abhorrent. The government has no right and no call to decide the morality and/or religion of their citizens. This is exactly why we need a separation of church and state. Now let's move on from teenage sex and think about the implications of this for adults. I'm 25, 26 next month. Old enough to have sex? I should certainly hope so. Emotionally and financially, I am not ready for children. My husband and I have been married since 2005. (Yes, doing the math, I did get married when I was 19. Want to know why? My parents would not allow me to 'live in sin' with my boyfriend of two years when they moved, but they would approve a very, very young marriage. Sound backwards? Yeah, it is. But my choice was to marry at 19 or likely never see him again. We chose to marry and we've never looked back, but it doesn't work out so nicely for most young couples who are given the same choice and choose to marry. Most of them divorce young, and many put small children into the middle of those divorces. All because they were not allowed healthy experimentation.) So at a few years to 30 years old and married for several years, my husband and I should not have sex simply because we can't yet afford children? And using birth control pills makes us 'not chaste?' Lolno. When and how many children we have is 100% up to us. To put it frankly, it's not the government's damn business what we do concerning our own reproduction. I'm appalled that they are even having this debate in this day and age. Appalled and disgusted. Phoenix.Fredjan said: » Lakshmi.Jesi said: » and the entire double standard when it comes to woman having sex with younger and underage males. This happens because women are perceived as weak/unable to defend themselves/aren't capable of strength and therefore violence, not because society loves women and think the crimes they commit are less awful. world needs more women like liela, justtttttttt sayin

Honestly, if it doesn't make sense to you, you probably aren't going to get it during the duration of this forum topic. Haven't seen child support or domestic violence laws lately? They are inherently disempowering for men. What laws are disempowering for women? EDIT: And Liela's post above perfectly shows why although I strongly dislike sexual dynamics, and gender within society, I do not dislike women. EDIT2: I would also argue that paternity as a whole is legally disempowering for men. If a man impregnates a woman, he is trapped legally if she chooses to keep the child, and must pay support towards it. Women ultimately have the choice to keep or not keep the baby. If men had a small window of opportunity to "sign off" on the child and renounce all legal rights (including visitation and such in future), then they would have more power. As it happens, men are essentially powerless. Cerberus.Irohuro said: » maybe we'll get lucky and dec 21 will be a meteor destorying d.c. while all the US politicians are there.
