If you get all 9 Valkyrie feather KIs and then go to Odin chamber, does it consume all 9?
Lakshmi.Buukki said: » Asura.Geriond said: » The only issue is if you have a piece in an equipset and then move it to another bag, it won't "follow" the piece if there are other instances of the base item in the first bag. I think it has to do with the "order" in the inventory list that the item is in. When you move it out of your bag, the item spot your equipset previously corresponded to (in this case, a cape) no longer is in the exact spot it was when you set the macro, so the macro fails. I noticed this a while back; I moved a cape out of a bag, then moved it right back. Equipset consistently picked the wrong cape. I think when I sorted the list back, the macro worked So I think it works like this: Macro is set with a cape in a bag that has multiple capes Cape you set for specific macro is in "spot 50/80" Cape is moved out of "spot 50" to another bag Cape is moved back to original bag, but not in spot 50 Macro looks for cape in spot 50, doesn't find it, so picks next available cape from list (my guess) (guessing here) if you move cape back to spot 50, it works again as normal It's more that the link that targets a specific version of a piece gets reassigned if there's still a version of that item in the original bag. Even if you bring the original piece back and put the in the same order, it'll still keep pointing to the reassigned piece even if you re-sort the bag to be exactly how it was. 1: Item 1 and item 2 in bag 1, with the equipset pointing to Item 2 2: Move Item 2 to bag 2; the equipset "loses track" of item 2 and is reassigned to item 1 because it's in the bag it was looking for item 2 in. 3: Move item 2 back to bag 1 and sort it again; the equipset still points to item 1 because nothing has prompted it to reassign it Conversely, if you have only a single of that item, or even only a single of that item in the original bag but multiples elsewhere, if you move the item to another bag the equipset will follow it and stay assigned. Asura.Geriond said: » Definitely not, otherwise switching up what other items are in your bag would mess up equipsets even if you never touched the equipped items themselves. I've rearranged my bags entirely too often and never had that issue as long as I didn't move the equipset targets between bags themselves. The client side visible list is not the same as the indexing used in memory. Using the slot 50 example, if you take out the item at slot 48, the cape still remains at 50. The next item you put in the bag will occupy slot 48. If you've never removed the cape from the bag, it will never leave slot 50, regardless of what you do with other items in that bag. Packets use the real index from memory, the client side sort is never sent to the server at all, and is stored in local files. This is why your inventory appears all 'out of order' when you log in on a new machine, it's showing the real order because it lacks the client side sort file. Client side sort also does not rearrange indexes, fwiw. I haven't looked into the actual logic used, but I'm inclined to believe Buukki is correct here. If you really wanted to test, could fill the bag all the way up to 80 and remove/add one item at a time to ensure the indices stayed the same. In addition to the usual COR BRD and healer, our group has settled on usually doing DRG WAR BST for the DD slots. DRG for its JAs and damage, WAR for Warcry and damage. BST can use Slug pet and Purulent Ooze to knock first 10% of HP off, Corrosive Ooze for Def-33%, and Savage Blade for additional damage (not as much as the top DPS options, but perfectly acceptable contribution). Of the other Savage Blade DDs, I do think BLU is a pretty good option when comparing to DRK RNG NIN THF whatever else. Something like DRK or RNG (TP Bonus bow/WSD arrow) will put out higher raw numbers on Savage, but there's something to be said for BLU's additional utility with stuff like Mighty Guard. I don't claim to know how it works on the server side, just that as long as you don't move the item itself to a different bag, equipset will be able to keep track of it flawlessly no matter what you do with the bag. Good info. As previously discussed, anyone using plain in-game or Windower macros (no equipsets) can also just specify inventory/wardrobe location if you keep capes in different wardrobes. But if you have more capes for a job than you have wardrobes, or if you just prefer to pile them all into a single storage location, Geriond's advice is good. If you're separating into different storage locations, syntax is: /equip slot "item name" # (where "#" is the number of the wardrobe containing the item, or if left blank or 0 will direct to your main inventory) Or for a set in a Windower .txt script file, example: input /equip back "Cichol's Mantle" 2 (which will equip your WAR Ambuscade cape that is in Wardrobe 2) I've taken the approach of sticking all of my primary JSE TP capes for all jobs in Wardrobe 1, most used WS JSE cape in Wardrobe 2, then additional WS/utility capes in 3-8 depending on how many I have. This is one way to organize that would give you up to 9 different unique locations for each job (if you have all 8 wardrobes). That has always been enough for me. Anyone know where I can find/have a link to/have memorized the formulae/data for calculating base attributes after they changed it some years back?
Best way to lowman final TVR battle? Is it soloable with Trusts?

It is, it's not hard at all
Depending on your gear*
If you aren't prepared it will eat your *** To answer the question the best job to solo it on is probably BLU since you can keep it stunlocked and silenced for most of the fight. Trusts are borderline worthless if you can't prevent them from getting 1shot by its AoE BLU spells. SCH could probably do fine too w/ helices, keeping debuffs up, and kiting. From what I've seen trust just get erased instantly.
(It is currently the hp boost campaign though so maybe) I know it can be duo'd with trusts - Rune(tank) + (Sam)dd. The dd helps to knock down the fetters while the tank holds it. Once you get a nice window with no fetters on 2nd phase, sam can go to town 4steps and burn sp1/sp2 if needed.
Here's a tip that's not clear about trusts in this fight: You can keep re-summoning them (as soon as they are off recast cool down) even if they die, and even if you have enmity. This helped me duo my win. Even if trusts get erased you can resummon. Bring some form(s) of reraise

Maybe on the JP wiki? We know that in theory it gives 1% attack (probably it's 10/1024 but w/e) for each buff. So far so good, but clearly that's not all there is to it. There must be some other limitations. Like... does it work with ALL buffs? Or just some? Because I feel like some buffs likely don't count like, I dunno, Signet? Sigil? Reraise? Dedication? Auras? And I'm pretty sure there must be a cap to the maximum amount of buffs that get counted (and, as a consequence, a maximum Att % this bonus can grant). Wonder what's it set at. 5%? 10%? 20%? I don't see any reason to believe that there are buffs that don't count, or that there is a cap. If there is one it's certainly not as low as 20.

I've seen people use Emporox's ring just for the extra buff to boost savage blade. I don't know if "Medicated" counts either, unfortunately. I could easily see medicated not count if it's classified by the system as a debuff rather than a buff.
So help a poor ignorant soul when it comes to do WS test.
I did a few test but clearly my lack of knowledge on this sort of test is putting me off. My goal was to find a target that I could oneshot with the first hit of Savage Blade, but with me BELOW the att cap. I tried on Matamatas at Morimar HP simply because they are easy to reach, well aware that I'm likely above the att cap for them. I went as BRD/WAR with the following buffs: Emporox Pot, Marcato HM, VM, Paeon6, Minne5, Prot5, Shell5, Defender. (in hindsight, I should've used Advancing March instead of HM). All WSs have been used at 3k TP. These are the numbers I've been getting: lev103, 78tp return, 32434 dmg (defender up) lev103, 78tp return, 35163 dmg (defender down) lev103, 78tp return, 37208 dmg (defender down) lev103, 78tp return, 27370 dmg (defender up) lev013, 78tp return, 29929 dmg (defender up) I was expecting numbers to be pretty close if not exactly the same, considering the TP return indicates the same amount of hits (first) shotting the targets. So... uhm, I'm confused. Please help me reach my goal! (the one I listed above) I am no expert in the subject matter or testing but you did not define what tp you used the ws at, did you have TP bonus, and I think we are using nagling but in a test it's not safe to assume.
Edit I think they need your attack str and mnd too Your damage varies within a range(see https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/PDIF), to be able to actually verify something as precise as whether a certain buff gives 1% attack with any reliability you'll need hundreds if not thousands of WS with very meticulous tracking of buffs (and care to be consistant across equipment).
If you were dead set on trying to catalogue a lot of different buffs and whether they impact it, you'd have to find a monster and work backwards to get it's exact def and vit, then calculate the max possible damage at a given attack, and see if you can exceed that. You'd also need to stick to only the same level of monster, so use checker or similar if they spawn in a range. This is still likely to take dozens of WS to verify each buff. Is the link for the notes on the version update broken, or is it just me?
So the thing about that is. There are no update notes lol.
The post went out preemptively and there's nothing to link to. No JP or NA. It is to make up when they released the translated news way later than the japanese, last month.
Now, they are even! The JP POL site doesnt even have a date announcement yet. Considering the title is "Announcing the October Version Update (10/03/2023)", I'm presuming it was supposed to go out October 3rd and they royally *** up (again).
http://www.playonline.com/ff11/index.shtml Anyways, they already said whats changing in a previous announcement. Ambuscade mob rotation and "changing location of specific monsters". I'm gonna guess its either Khimaira or Locus Imps. I hope no one is expecting any major surprises from maintenance mode. And without Fujito's post we have no idea what the weather is like in Japan right now :(

still wished the end of TVR had given us a true "zone" of Valhalla....double light weather battle arena where we fight for the entertainment of Odin and the fellow pantheon of gods.
But no, just double darkness all the things since Limbus >< |
