Since Ambu is in a cycle, what's next month's gonna be?
Mamool apparently. Probably the melee set aka critical auras.

Update date will allow one extra ambu seal? Asking for a lazy friend. Offline
Yes, one ambu seal for weekly reset and another when patch resets it. If you get the weekly one before patch that is.

Any tips on pulling Demisang Deleterious without all hell breaking loose when doing solo/duo farming? When it spawns in one of the large rooms, it seems to hang out mid pack for forever. Have tried sack pulling and warping, but it always ends up middle of the pull.

Been reading up on bgwiki's welcome back page but looks like it hasnt been updated in a few years Yeah, I did the same like 3 or 4 months ago, kinda gave up after 3 or 4 leveling sessions to 99 solo. Brought back one mule to at least cleave me. Then I feel the urge to tackle sortie and odyssey, but soloing/duoing would only get me that far. Brought more mules, and im where im right now, slow progress, but some at least. Those are some solid advise. I got back to the game since 2020 (or so?) after made an Idris. Now that I have got some time (plus free login last week) i came back to the game debating if i should continue of go play some wow/14/d4 lol. Anyway I am thinking to make a Tizona for my Blu (i mostly enjoy playing solo), Blu currently have AlmaceAG and Naegling. But base on what you recommend if I mainly wanted to play solo would then War Neagling be better? Not sure how well it would work with 2, but with 6 we often have 1 person pull -> run to a teleporter, then one of the group vokes the DD in the opposite direction Thats good, but cumbersome. I try teleporting between each warps to check its current position. Deleterious moves around a lot, and eventually it can end in a empty place. Obviously random, but if for every warp you do a quick check on D, then maybe. I never tried gravity or break on formors, but if i had that, maybe wait till its close to others within AoE range, then entomb all of them, un-petrify deletrious and run to warp to shed enmity of all the group. As only deleterious is running, he will give up near teeport, while the rest will give up in their original place Lakshmi.Buukki

When it spawns in one of the large rooms, it seems to hang out mid pack for forever. Have tried sack pulling and warping, but it always ends up middle of the pull. There's a way to pull it in the midst of a pack and only be left with the Demisang, but it requires some skill to set it up. I called it Trust Sacking. Basically, you pull the Demisang (physically claim him, not just aggro), engage and attack it once, allow a trust that has AOE ability like Valaneiral or AAEV to hit all the mobs, then run. Mob hate will then shift to the tank trust, and you will only have hate on Demisang. Then the trust dies a quick death, but all of the additional adds will go passive (they might go after a healer trust if they cured the tank after he claims them all, in which case they are the next to die as well), because you never acted hostile on any of them. From that point, you should run straight to the portal with the Demisang following you and warp away. Resummon your trusts and warp back and claim Demisang alone. You will have to DT up to make sure you can survive the first few hits of the pull, but once the trust AOE goes off and you've acted on the Demisang once, you should be good. Offline
In my experience that only works with smaller packs, recently tried that in the large long room with the ramp, Demisang was right in the middle and was pressed for time, didn't go well.
Larger groups are spread out too far for the AoE to hit them all but at the same time they chain link the entire room pretty much instantly. I think Valeineral AoE gets reset the moment you draw new aggro or links and due to the quick chain link he doesn't get the reset and is on cooldown. He is also too squishy to reliably survive till all fomors gathered in range and i believe casters even outrange his AoE? The few occasions where the demisang chills in a large pack is probably not enough to justify bringing a SMN but maybe safe pulling can also work with /SMN? I think naegling WAR is a strong DD when youre behind some more time consuming content like odyssey sheol gaol, or aeonic. If solo, i would go with BLU. If i need to do party content, COR is a safe choice. Im planning naegling WAR because i feel it feels like its has shorter gap compared to people using fully augmented nyame, dishing 40k+ per WS on everything. Offline

Im planning naegling WAR because i feel it feels like its has shorter gap compared to people using fully augmented nyame, dishing 40k+ per WS on everything. Nyame is still out of reach for me at this point. Is it a lot easier 2 years later now at v0? Well, with a mid lvl gear, proper buffs and paying attention to gimmicks/weaknesses, i dont see it being a problem zerging all non-burst foes.
I will still climb the v5+ but i also font think it would be a problem until v15+. But do notice that the gear progression changed a bit. I would advise gathering empy pieces +2 as soon as you can. Empy sets are coming with -30%DT to all jobs, +10WSD for melees in general, and even +10pdl for heavy dds. Suggestions for good targets to skill up up combat skills that are currently under 100, while mostly AFK (i.e., stuff that lives a while, I would prefer not to have to babysit by jumping to a new mob every 60 seconds)?
Adoulin Uragnites are too high level, skillups are still very infrequent probably until you hit... idk, 200+? We're talking about a mule on Ninja, trying to level stuff like Great Sword, Polearm, Scythe for Abyssea proc purposes - all of those are under 50 skill now. I'll cap them out because blue numbers, but having a hard time getting started. Colonization reives roots in ceizak or yahse.
Grab a blind spot, and you can afk for hours. Pantafernando said: » Colonization reives roots in ceizak or yahse. Grab a blind spot, and you can afk for hours. Reives still seem a bit too high level to get skillups for weapons with as low of current skill as I have for these weapons (under 50). Have been beating on one for ~10min with skillup food on, zero skillups yet. Anyone have something lower level that's good? IIRC, once you get to 200+ or so skill the Reives (or Uragnites) are great. But until then it's very slow going unless you fight monsters at a more appropriate level for your skill. Which I COULD just go do on any old random level 50-75ish mobs, but of course I'm trying to exert minimal required effort lol, hence the call for suggestions XD. Maybe this evening I'll check out like... idk, crabs in Gustav tunnel or something. Should still last quite a while on a single mob if I'm just attacking with a lv1 weapon and not using any attacking trusts. I guess I could also use some skillup books, up to weekly sparks limit. Reives give skill like crazy even from zero. Unless youre doing zero damage.
No skill if no KI Uragnites are fine too as long as you have 119 gear. Plenty of acc from zero. Could do the walls in assault: demolition or a trash unm like belinda I'm hitting a Knotted Root in Ceizak right now with a lv1 polearm and doing damage every single hit. Started at 48 skill, been here 15min with double marches from trusts, still at 48 skill. Don't think there has been a single skillup proc. Have Sakura trust out and food on too.
This character has all KIs, finished all missions. Just trying to level weapon types that aren't her primary weapon on any leveled jobs, solely for Aby proc purposes. EDIT: ooh, good call on the Assault boulders, that may be a decent one. Having to reset every 30min is a little hassle, but almost a half hour of AFK skillup isn't bad. Offline

Always did uraginites, long as you can deal with the poison aoe they're practically harmless and self heal enough to live forever
Asura.Eiryl said: » On ninja? Cause ninja cant skill polearms Ohhhhhhh damn, that's gotta be it then. I can see her uncapped skills on NIN/WAR, and I thought those would still work to be able to skill up from the /WAR subjob. Guess not! Thanks, that sounds like the issue! Also, guess I'll PL this character's WAR up to 99 solely for skilling up these weapons. She's a support/mage character, job levels at 51WAR, 15DRG, 4SAM, 1RUN, and not even unlocked DRK... and I need GS and Polearm lol. Scythe too, but BLM99 can do that one wooo! Is there a clean definition of the weapon skill wall, and/or walls like nuke wall in the game as they currently apply
On BG somewhere? Nuke wall
I don't think there's any page dedicated to the WS walls in Ody/Sortie, or the Dynamis repeated WS "wall". Magic wall nerfs all damaging casted magic in a window. (Above ~2400)
Blood Pact wall nerfs all pacts (including multi hits being on one pact!) in a window. Weaponskill wall (1) nerfs only the same ws in a window. Sortie/Gaol Weaponskill wall (2) nerfs repeat damage until different ws is used. Dienamis There is no comprehensive list of which events/mobs or where they are in effect. Do we know how long the ws wall is in effect for?
I saw some older posts that described a 10 second window that was reversed for something else. Being described as like the mb or nuke wall. How it currently functions is up for debate in my sortie group, with some misconceptions I believe. They seem to think you need to do 3-6 different ws which is absurd. To my understanding 2 people using savage blade will nerf eachother if used too closely together with the second use of the ws being reduced and returning after a few seconds from the last use. Not use multiple weaponskills and then come back. So there are two weaponskill walls. They're refering to the dynamis ws wall. Where you "have to" rotate ws's.
Sortie has the one you think it is. Offline
In sortie: Repeated WS within 10sec window will have 10% then increased dmg reduction until I think 50%?
Using a different ws in same 10sec resets this. Repeated ws will trigger it even by different people. In my experience the WS wall in Ody/Sortie is only for the same WS being used back-to-back. We routinely have multiple people using Savage Blade on basement bosses and never notice a significant drop in WS damage. With 5 melee spamming WS, there are never 2 Savage Blades in a row.
If nobody else is WSing, it might be 10 seconds before the wall resets, but who's going to bother to check? When I was doing a mage setup with RNG, we used to wait it out and noticed it was roughly 10 seconds, so that's probably a good rule of thumb. Better option is to have a second, third, fourth, or fifth melee to WS between yours than to waste a WS using an inferior option. For Dynamis mobs, it's a progressive thing, probably a ~10% loss of WSD for each time you use the same WS. Not sure of the exact mechanics, but if I had to guess, it's like the Craftsmanship on crafting shields, where it keeps track of the last 10~20 WS, and the higher the count of the WS you're attempting to use, the more its damage is penalized. It's something like this for sure, but it's not just WS. You can reduce it by using other actions like steps, debuffs, etc. If I had to take a guess at outlining it, every WS adds a 12.5% damage tier up to a max of 87.5% reduction. Every 2-3 other actions remove a tier. So, as long as you're using a wide variety of actions, it isn't that big a deal for anyone. |
