Random Question thread (FFXI related)
Ah my bad, forgot about those, at work and can't see my own gear right now! Can always use empy until you reforge your AF but 1-5 are easy as dirt to get and AF is super cheap to reforge, especially compared to relic.

Did a quick search and didn't see anything. I know they updated lair reive respawn rate at some point, but is colonization reive respawn rate still 1 hour? If not, what is it now? Thanks!

While this is true, you'll be carrying the AF3+2 hands for Saboteur, and an extra inventory slot for an extra 7 seconds or whatever it works out to is more than I cared to deal with. The set bonus also only applies to party member while composure is active, doesn't work on alliance members. Sylph.Systematicchaos said: » Did a quick search and didn't see anything. Thanks! - Colonization reives in dungeons respawn at 15 minutes - Lair reives in outdoor areas respawn at 15 minutes - Lair reives in dungeons respawn at 5 minutes Asura.Yojimmbo said: » Justice League question. Been watching a lot of animated DC stuff lately. Question relates to the boom tubes being used by JLA members going to and from the watchtower. In some of the series there is a voice that announces them as they enter the watchtower or as in the series Young Justice, mount justice. From what I gathered Superman is 001 and Batman 002 and so forth and so on. I was wondering if there is any verification as to whether or not this was ever in any of the comics, and if so is there an actual list with names and numbers. Also hyped about the new DC Dawn of Justice :D Should really post this in the Random thoughts thread or possibly in the culture/media forum, as this has no relation to FFXI. Would anyone be able to provide me a good picture of Hades please?
Like from dats or something, like we have for all other mobs is it possible? I'd be very grateful *bows* Thanks...but I mean FFXI Hades!

The set bonus also only applies to party member while composure is active, doesn't work on alliance members. Empy feet and RF1 hands increase self-buffs further. (Though I don't recall if the increased duration is multiplicative or additive with Composure.) EDIT: and it's not just 7s, it's a variable percentage duration increase. Valefor.Sehachan said: » Thanks...but I mean FFXI Hades! nevermind found it: How good are shock spikes?
I don't play melee, and I don't really ever fight any mobs with them anyways. Basically, are they noticeable? Useful? Annoying? Should be more worth for its aditional effect, stun, than for dmg.
Pantafernando said: » Should be more worth for its aditional effect, stun, than for dmg. Right. I'm wondering if the stun lasts long, how often does it occur, etc. Of course, this will vary from one source of Shock Spikes to another, but I'm trying to get a general idea of their effectiveness and how they work. Also, better or worse than Ice Spikes? I didnt see any related page in bg or wkia relating additional status effect accuracy, so maybe just a carrer rdm can say how good its in new content.
Eyeballing, stunning happens when you land a melee hit. The problem is when nm is immune to stun and for casting mobs, while paralyze is always troublesome, but it also depend the % that para can proc, but those values, i couldnt find aside "moderate". What determines the accuracy of the stun effect?
In addition, what about from the other side? A player hitting a monster? Is that noticeable? Thanks a lot Leo!!
For Shock Spikes, I've noticed the stun is pretty uncommon (especially so on higher level enemies) and very short lived. The only time I'd consider it would be if I needed to kite something that doesn't stop to cast, and even then it seems pretty unreliable. Ice Spikes saves my butt time and time again, so even when kiting I still prefer it.
Something to keep in mind about spikes is that they can actually wake up a mob you've slept, due to sleep landing at the beginning of a mob's melee swing and the damage from the spikes immediately waking it up.
Did they change how the limited time objectives work for records of eminence? I went out to do vanquish vermin to level an alt and after killing 20 vermin the quest did not repeat. For the record I did not have vanquish vermin up previously (it had just changed from vanquish plantoids which I failed to complete earlier in the day).
edit: vanquish vermin showed back up again 50 min later on the hour. no clue what just happened here Asura.Hoshiku said: » Did they change how the limited time objectives work for records of eminence? That or more important, if you have full inventory and cant receive the cuppon. In that case, the quest wont repeat till you make space for the cuppon to drop. Offline

That happend to me as well, a few years ago actually. When we were trying to camp it, someone popped the ???, and everyone was like O.o, why on earth would she kite the nm here? It's like dude, don't you know that a gm can ban your *** for that? Anyways, Hi mom
Today I saw a Black Mage in full Hagondes +1 armor. The strange thing though it that it was all black:
I'm guessing he was using lockstyle with another set, but what armor is this? Asura.Crevox said: » Today I saw a Black Mage in full Hagondes +1 armor. That would be the ebon set. Or one if it's derivatives. <,<

pld question:
is it ochain exclusive, but if you block an attack that causes a status debuff. The debuff doesn't take effect. or is it all shields and blocking the attack that causes the debuff? also, does the Priwen share the trait of blocking status debuffs like ochain? (if it's true that only it does) Ragnarok.Martel

That's a property of shield blocking itself, not of any specific shield.
It's just that we didn't discover it till Ochain, cause before that noting blocked reliably enough for us to make the connection. can someone explain to me how to read the chat log time stamp?
Any reason to use Sangoma Ring over Leviathan Ring +1 for MND enfeebles?
As far as I was told, +1 MND is the same as +1 Magic Accuracy (with potency included), so I was curious why someone would use Sangoma over Leviathan. I see some RDM sets doing this (using only one Leviathan Ring +1 and not two of them). Doesn't that make Metamorph Ring better than Sangoma as well? |
