I'm so glad I have a news show (Daily Show) that gets it, and often (but not always) grills people to get the answers. His interview with Obama was soft, but he often gets to the core of the issue.
While I did like the original show that was total humor, what he's turned it into is so much better for society as a whole. He's left biased, but he admits it and backs up his reasoning. Although I'm sure his small army of staffers/researchers help a lot, he really does hold his own too.
I think Jon Oliver once was quoted as saying something like "people that get their main source of news from the DS ... that's sad", but these days, they're a hell of a lot better than anyone else. PBS is good too, but even they don't drill back in history nearly as often as DS does to dig up seriously relevant sound bytes.
I found out some info if anyone was interested about the engineer that couldn't find work and Obama asked for the resume. I picked up a newspaper (something I rarely do) and found out this person lives about 5 mins from me.

The Wedel household is being inundated with calls from the media, companies looking to hire, recruiters and others thanks to the publicity the online chat had gotten and efforts the White House is making on Darin Wedel's behalf. Even though, because of family custody reasons, Wedel cannot move out of the Fort Worth area, he is hopeful he will be able to find a job in his field soon. He has been unemployed since being laid off from Texas Instruments three years ago.
I don't normally post in the politics section, but I felt this would be a worthy topic to discuss about.

Mr. President, what's being done to battle SOPA, PIPA, and the apparently recently exposed ACTA? Some of us are beginning to feel as if we'll be arrested or fined for every little thing involving any sort of media.

Mr. President. According to major Internet organizations, SOPA, PIPA, and now ACTA threaten the very foundations of a free and open Internet. What would you do to ensure that the Internet remains free and open under your continued presidency?

Why did you sign the National Defense Authorization Act (a law which opened the door for trial-free, indefinite detention of anyone, including US citizens, so long as the government calls them terrorists) when you said you were going to veto it?

Mr. President, it's all good and well that SOPA and PIPA are slowed down in Congress, but what are you doing about ACTA? This is an international agreement which could prove much more devastating.

After CEO Chris Dodd openly admitted on FOX News to the corruption of the MPAA attempting to buy laws like SOPA, PIPA, and others; how can middle class Americans know that our votes will be heard over these profiteers?
