1k Dedication To Friends.

I've been playing this game for years.
I was never the partying type of guy, not in my entire life.
Can't understand going to clubs, or getting drunk religiously.
They seem pointless and consume braincells and money.

What I do understand is friends and family.
Friends and family are what makes our lives complete.

Friends that play FFXI with me, with hundreds and thousands of miles difference, but still friends.
And this is a small story of one example of why my friends are important to me.

That is an short story of spending a week straight with friends, in the effort to get the Joyeuse.

Those that know Charby, know that he hits like he is using Hundred Fists and has TP moves that can drop you quickly.

My friends and I camped him for a week.
We all work and had some very late nights, sometimes with no sleep at all, to work together in getting it.

A couple of the days, we had to switch jobs in hopes to hold Charby while others woke up and ran down there.
Two of the days, I even tanked it on my Thief, which was pretty fun!

And after my friends banded together for a week, we all got Charby's sword.

Thats awesome hun, we did something very similar, unfortunately we have no screenshots to revere the moment.
And I agree the ppl I have met on FFXI, thru linkshell, vent etc , I would consider them close friends regardless of the distance we have between us.

The good thing about MMO RPGs and making friends is good. You get to actually see a persons real personality. How they handle pressure situations, how they react, how they make time to help other gamers. With these things, you can kind of tell how a persons true personality is.
I think this is a huge factor in making great friends online. You can be honest and when u are pissed at someone Blist baby..lol
Too bad u cant Blist peeps in real life.
There are great people online and great ***.
I really enjoy logging in and saying whats up in LS chat and we start chatting like we have always known each other.
I have some online friends that i have known longer than some RL friends.
Keep having fun!

The RL community will never understand the friendships of the online community.
Partying for 6 hours straight IRL creates a bond of friendship.
Partying for 6 hours straight in-game creates a bond of frienship.

Yet, they will never understand us. That's ok though.
The important thing is, we laugh and have fun with our friends. :-)

I know like 3 marriages that came from online 2 from MMOrpgs. All of them decently far away. Though I'd say online generally isn't as bonding in terms of how quick. You also gotta think just how much time you spend talking with friends online when you have acess to all of them at the same time. Might be more then you speak with irl friends :)

Not quite the same, but I know several couples that play FFXI together. At least one of them is a long-distance relationship, and being able to do stuff together, even if only virtually, really eases the strain of distance. That and Skype ^.^
