There was some recent testing on it from this post on. Saotome haidate +2 supposedly add 25% to counter rate which is pretty substantial when you consider counter rate bonuses from other sources.

Great read, thanks.

Could do Tenryu hands/AF3+2 body, but I was just playing around. Pretty balanced set for DT/Eva/Counter/Seigan and some DD stats.
Everythign on the top line besides Duplus needs to go though

The only thing better is Koga/99Masa but 99Masa/Yoichi don't mix at all. Plus 99Namas is dead sexy when applicable.

Why? I think that STR from Masa helps SAM more than anything on Amano.

Namas AM overwrites Fudo AM. Its really annoying and is the only reason I made Amano. (already had Masa)

Picked up Ogier's breeches last night and wanted to check how these tp and Fudo sets are looking. Obvious upgrades to TP are tyrants and phos/+1 but all my gil is being pushed into 95ing masa before SoA.

Just wondered could be done to improve the Fudo set further?

Fudo

Tp

Last question, does anyone have a slightly less pimp seigan counter set? (assuming +2 head and legs)

Since you're on budget, I'll leave out Tenryu+1 hands/legs.

Your Fudo set should contain ATK-cap set, and low-ATK set. The former you already got covered.

I know this is easier with spellcast, but still worth making macros for if you dont use spellcast.

For ATK-cap set, I'd use this set:

(Rose instead of Pole. Pole if Embrava/Regain build and/or using Phorcys Salade & Usu feet+1 combo) Disregard Tenryu legs and use Ogiers.

Shura Kabuto +1 with WS dmg+3% atleast (optimal would be SC DMG+3%, WS DMG+3% and STR or ATK)

Mekira if latent active (if not using spellcast, I'd fulltime either headpiece, whichever is convenient for you)

Hierachy on feet should be (from best to worse) Omodaka Sune-ate]=> Gigantes Boots]=> Unkai Sune-ate +2 for ATK-cap set.

As for your TP set, start working on Usu head+1/Feet+1.

Regarding Seigan set, this is situational, and depends on your playstyle/situations.

I use this set:

Disregard weapon/sub/hands slots.

Mantains haste/x-hit and reasonable ATK, and covers my needs when Seigan DD. I also have a mule that usually covers my *** at all times. Set is usually used in a pinch when I can anticipate certain TP moves/and or when I'm uncomfortable eating bulk dmg with my Hasso hybrid-DT set.

Otherwise Saotome Haidate+2 would be something to look into.
For me it would be useable when Seigan-tanking for longer periods of time, and when killspeed isn't factor/not on a timelimit that matters.

I'll leave the interpretation to you regarding which Seigan set is more useful from the two last pages.

edit: If you use spellcast, use a STR earring instead of Moonshade when 300 TP for Shoha/Fudo. May want make a macro for this anyways if not using spellcast if you're a die-hard SAM-player.

Currently working with these two sets for TP/WS:

TP

WS - Shoha (minor changes for fudo e.g. str neck/belt)

Working on Omo. Sune-Ate. Are there any other salvage v2 pieces I should aim for? Not really got the funds for Pyryosoul, Phos+1 or Tenryu+1 :(

Thanks for the info zelphes =) I don't use spell cast so tend to just use oto +1 for all weapon skills. Finished NQ usu head ages ago and feet yesterday, hoping to get NQ Marduk head and feet finished before I start HQ runs though >.< (done some already though)

Sorry, a correction: Keep Saotome feet+2 in your ATK-cap set for Fudo for non-regain situations.

Otherwise the above hierachy for feet options apply when you got regain, and I would use a 2nd STR ring aswell instead of Rajas for Regain set.

Do the Saotome Haidate+2 need to be full timed for the effect or just when using third eye?

That would work just fine for NNI. You can also rock a PA and spam Stardiver if you have that merited.

Yeah, I guessed this :p I have the belt and waist sitting in my mog house so that's ok. Not too much swapping around to make an attcapped set, just wondering if you know how much of a boost the belt/waist give in capped attack situations? Seems the fTP multiplier is so high anyway?

I tried working it out for my LS but pretty certain I failed epically. =(

I ran some numbers. Picked a target where you're ATK-capped/fSTR capped since that's the scenario we want for this.

Anyways, assumed Fudo set is this:

Using Mekira oto+1 instead of Shura head +1 since that's what you're using, but disregard the leg slot.

Things not included in this calculation:

- Mekira Oto+1 day latent
- WSD+ from Phorcys body/Ogier's Legs
- DA
- Food
- Buffs of any kind
- Moonshade

Fudo/w no ele neck/belt or Justicar/Bier+1:

DMG: 114
fSTR: 20 (Assuming 76+ STR over target's VIT)
WSC: 98 (60% 193 STR, .85 @)
fTP: 3.75*(114+20+98)*2.25 = 1957

Fudo/w Justicar/Bier+1:

DMG: 114
fSTR: 20 (Assuming 76+ STR over target's VIT)
WSC: 105 (60% 206 STR, .85 @)
fTP: 3.75*(114+20+105)*2.25 = 2016

2.92% increase

Fudo/w ele neck/belt:

DMG: 114
fSTR: 20 (Assuming 76+ STR over target's VIT)
WSC: 98 (60% 193 STR, .85 @)
fTP: 3.75+50/256*(114+20+98)*2.25 = 2056

4.81% increase

As the amount of WSC increases, it will favour ele belt/neck combo more. If you're not fSTR capped, it will likely work in Justicar/Bier+1 favour somewhat.

However, Ele belt/neck should come out ahead if ATK-capped regardless.

Fudo scales with Ftp and the more it scales the less ele items increase damage. Z'll msth it tomorrow when i'm not so drunk

This is true, and changing fTP to WS @300 TP, you get this:

Fudo/w no ele neck/belt or Justicar/Bier+1:

DMG: 114
fSTR: 20 (Assuming 76 STR over target's VIT)
WSC: 98 (60% 193STR, .85 @)
fTP: 5.75*(114+20+98)*2.25 = 3001

Fudo/w Justicar/Bier+1:

DMG: 114
fSTR: 20 (Assuming 76 STR over target's VIT)
WSC: 105 (60% 206STR, .85 @)
fTP: 5.75*(114+20+105)*2.25 = 3092

3.03% increase

Fudo/w ele neck/belt:

DMG: 114
fSTR: 20 (Assuming 76 STR over target's VIT)
WSC: 98 (60% 193STR, .85 @)
fTP: 5.75+50/256*(114+20+98)*2.25 = 3100

3.29% increase

The TP conserve also works towards ele neck/belt combo, but nothing I bothered to include in this calculation.

Should be worth adding that ATK-cap sets have more benefits than just the added dmg from ele belt/neck combo, since you can stack more STR for WSC gains which up the overall numbers.

Mostly useful on Fodder/low mid content or piercing mobs.

Biggest advantages are the base damage and 3.0 multiplier. Biggest disadvanges are the AM overwrites all other AMs, reaching capped Ratt on SAM and the fact RA/Namas can't DA/TA/QA. Running around Salvage/NNI spamming 4500 Namas is quite fun however.

The ability to oneshot a spec enemy at range without aggro-ing the other stuff in that room would be seriously great, what range can you reliably hit things with namas?

Namas doesn't miss (95%) on the content you'd use it. I do not know the max distance off hand but atleast 15'
