Heh, I'm a little sceptical of multi hit WS's and - acc gear I guess x.x
Surprised myself but even on an insanely Evasive mob Heafoc comes out ahead of Avant+1. (using the rest of his set)
Hmmm, that's very odd if you are not capped on accuracy. Are you sure you put in the full stats on Avant+1? the 2% DA should come very close in offsetting the 6 str, and each 2 accuracy is 1% if you are not capped.

Meh you are right, I made the mob so evasive that it floored the hit rate at 20% for both. If you can use the Acc of avant+1 it pulls ahead. Now to figure out how much ACC you need to make a difference.

I'd definitly use Avant+1 over heafoc. On weaker mobs who cares and on higher tier mobs it will pull ahead.

Mathed it out.

If Heafoc takes your WS ACC to 93.1% or lower then Avant+1 comes out ahead.

Acc 93.1%

Playing with the spreadsheet I have Fulgurante trashing all other options even when you factor in ODD/OD2.5 from Cala/Rag....pretty depressing for us Cala owners lol.
Theres been a lot of discussion of OAT Fulgurante, but how would the OA2-4 Fulgurante stack up? It seems to me that it was situationally good before (Endark build), and now with a 100% STR mod WS it would only get further ahead in the DoT department.

What say you?

From reading the older posts, it sounds like Kauriraris (ToM WS DMG+10%) > Ragnarok > Caladbolg

Rag is really nice for the acc, giving you more room for str options in your build. If you're fighting something where acc is an issue, I imagine Rag is gonna perform better.

Caladbolg lets you ride aftermath though.

edit: and yeah the OAT ToM sword mentioned above.

Pure damage wise, whirlwind is the best at the slot. But since it is a multi hit ws, you kinda have to worry about accuracy. If you have Ragnarok, you can definitely go with Whirlwind.

yep, even if not capped at attack, 3% DA is still better than 15 attack.

lol at noob who thinks all the new ws got that property

It's a fairly new development for weaponskills so it's understandable that some might not have known yet. In time, that will change.

Whats the hit spread at 99?

We've got a decent thread going on BG working on it (can't parse s'more because I can't get a clear Fortification this week).

There are two ways to call it, one is just 'cleaner' than the other:

In classical form, it's pretty damn close to 40/30/18/12. This comes out to 2.02 hits/round.

There's been some work on producing that spread from having a 60% chance to multihit followed by a 50/30/20 DTQ split. This arrangement explains why DA would override everything instead of being checked somewhere inbetween. It could be as high as a 65% chance on the level 99 weapons from the more recent parse followed by the same 50/30/20 split, while 60% matches some of my old lv85 and lv90 distribution parsing, which I thought was erroneous but came out to about 40/30/18/12 while I instead expected and extolled 40/30/20/10. I thought that some triples followed by singles were counted as quads by KParser.

When I get some additional parsing done I'll be able to pin down if level 99 OA2-4s got bumped to a 64% multihit rate or not.

Overall, OA2-4 Scythe is looking to be the slightly better over the GS version for Merit WS spam because of the single-round occurrence (improved in value with the 12% instead of 10%) with a 5-hit on it and the 2 hits/rd average over 4 hits to WS meaning a very clean 2 rounds to WS average and marginally lower overflow rate.

Btw: Soil Gorget and Belt work for both Resolution and Entropy if you need to obtain Gorget/Belt for either. Was worth the cruor to me to just bitchslap the Cactuar with a brew for the 100% drop, and Xzomit organs are way faster to farm than Phuabo (100% from the 'mother' Xzomit).

You want gorget and belt because SE grew a brain and made the 0.1 fTP bump work on all hits.

So 0.75 per hit becomes 0.95 per hit with elemental gorget and belt, or about 26% more unconditional damage instead of just 6% if it were an 'old type' WS.

You're literally adding a full extra hit to Resolution and Entropy 100% of the time with Gorget and Belt, and a smidge of accuracy, I've heard +10 each, to them too (definitely better than a lot of neck pieces, and passable for waist).
