one set, max %damage taken for both physical and magic. over shot the magic by 1% though.
Works on SAM too which is a nice space saver, the ethereal earring was for fun. Leviathan.Draugo

Not trying to piss anyone off, nor impress people for that matter. The subject is what it is, You all know it now. Just wanted to point it out.
Idk for the most part these days if the physical side of that set is even worth packing around any more. The magic defense has it's use. And if /drk or /rdm ever comes back as a good tank sub the MP return could be nice as well. Leviathan.Draugo said: » Didn't know you can edit title's, o wait..... take a closer look, don't need melaco, but they are interchangeable, the DA and vit, I think beat them though.
but you could use them instead of that belt to unlock more haste.
edit: and get second earring even* Leviathan.Draugo

That is true. Although you would rarely be in the set. Definitely wouldn't idle in it.

Is the MP return from the earring given from magic damage as well?, (and in turn the belt, since the phrase is identical)
edit: amIdoinitritenow? MNK can do the same, w/ BB, melaco mitts, and just one 1% earring. Yes it's all types of damage. Also, PDT/MDT values offer slightly less than listed, you'd need more than 50% visible PDT/MDT to hard cap.

How much more? 26% magic? and..... 52% phys?
Work out what you've got in each slot.
floor((%*256)/256)*100 = actual reduction Phoenix.Kirana

General rule of thumb: Any stat that has a hard cap will be true capped by adding 1 extra over the cap in visible gear. That last extra 1 point is filling in the lost fractions that were dropped because of decimal flooring in the programming.

I think you need 1% over every 25% you need 26% to get true 25% 52% to get true 50% As a rule of thumb that is. Well things capping at 25% usually need 1% extra, 50% need 2-3% extra, etc. Leviathan.Draugo

If you were to drop the 2 earring and used Melaco Mitts you would end up with this:
49.21875% Might be worth it, gain 1 inv slot and extremely close to cap. Could also augment your ASA pants with 4% phys. Drop the belt in favor of twilight. Use mujin stud in one ear, and idk, brutal in the other. I am glad SE is giving us more options for this stuff. And not having to use weapons is nice. Depending on how they handle larger values it's quite likely that ~51% is enough to cap. 512/1024, if you have two pieces that each give 1/1024 more than expected then you're golden. If not, ohnoes 0.2% more damage taken.
EDIT: Unlazied. None of my gear appears to give extra, though odd number PDT values such as 5% give less than I'd expected... because I was trying to calculate it via /1024. Works out fine in /256. Along with what you said, pull/idle etc, i often utilize -pdt when im tanking on jobs that can't evade worth ***, in my situation that means war. Also, mana wall, -pdt is so, so sweet with mana wall.
