Movie isn't necessary to watch before hand. Kinda introduces you a bit to the series and some of the people in it (Daniel Jackson and Col. Jack O'neil both played by different people) so that might actually be confusing. But it shows you how the stargate program kinda started and the first mission through it.

THIS! I may have been a fangirl but this ruined it. I love vampire movies/books, so I was very disappointed. I honestly didn't believe it until I saw it, lol.
Yeah I was like ooooo another vampire movie (I had never heard of the books before) then my fiance at the time told me that they glitter and such and I was all /outrage then I joined the bandwagon of twilight hate until I got bored and moved on... lol...
