After my last relationship... I'm just sick of religion. I'll respect her for having hers, but if she finds it to be the basis of our relationship entirely, I want nothing to do her. I don't know how many times I kept hearing her tell me that she doesn't want our relationship to go further until I convert to Christianity. No more.

I did have a GF for a few months who was religious as hell, bordering on nut job religious.. Wait, technically I had two, but the first one only lasted a few days.
Anyways.. that ***drove me insane.. She never tried to get me to convert or preach at me or anything, but she would talk about god all the time, every subject somehow god would work it's way in and I would just face palm or roll my eyes. She knew it bothered the hell out of me but "I can't help it, this is how I was raised".

Yeah...I'll admit that I only have general knowledge of other religions. Judaism, just because of my Jewish buddy while growing up. The only outside reading I've done on Buddhism and Hinduism (and it was a while ago now) were just because of maybe a small blurb in conversation that piqued my interest.

I'm okay with religion talk up until we start debating different beliefs..

One summer when my HS sweetheart and I came back from college, we got on to the subject of religion...I told him about my doubts. He asked, "Well, why did you even go to church?" Response /shrug, "For my grandfather." I asked him, "Why do you go to church?" He had nothing, but still insisted that when we graduated college, got married, had kids, blah blah blah...That they needed to be Methodist, but never really gave an answer as to why.

I can see it coming out once in a blue moon, but if every conversation goes to that it's just grating! I love my dad, but I hate him in huge social situations. Those are the only things he will have a conversation about. Try to turn the subject, but no more than a few minutes later...Back to politics/religion.

I kinda refuse to have a public conversation about politics/religion usually, just because people who don't have anything to do with the conversation butt in with their ideas and I really don't like that.
I just clam up and go find a book or something till it's done.
