Most days she goes to work at 6 am while I'm always going in at 10...so it's usually me making both meals, BUT! on the days when she's off I'm always like "hey........my lunch ain't gonna make itself >:c" lol Caitsith.Zahrah said: » Lakshmi.Flavin said: » Just buy it Z you know you want to! Do you have a Kitchenaide mixer, Zah? :D That's what I make bread in since I don't have a bread machine. It has an attachment that kneads it for me. Super easy and doesn't take too long, either! Good to know!!!I was actually thinking of asking my parents for one for my Christmas/birthday present. They're like $500 with all the attachments. I really want to make my own pasta too. =) You can even grate a huge block of cheese with those suckers! They are fantastic. AHHH!!! I was eyeballing a turquoise one when I was moseying around with a buddy this weekend. I was like, "*** yeah! I haven't had home-made ice cream since I was a wee one! Ravioli maker!?!" /queues choir of angels Must resist temptation to buy on impulse!!! Not to influence you too much, but you would not regret getting one. They are ridiculously useful for everything! And they last forever, my mom-in-law still has the same one that she had twenty years or so ago and it still works great. Ramuh.Rowland said: » Moving to the country, gonna eat me a lot of peaches. Ramuh.Kailana said: » ! I appear to be awake! Ramuh.Rowland said: » It's not impulse if you do research first and buy it anyway. You don't understand. If I don't have something specific to ask for for a holiday my mother buys a bunch of country, cutsie-poo, decorative crap out of a catalogue (that doesn't match anything in my house) or miscellaneous crap that I don't want/need. Examples: Funnel cake kit, mini-old-style popcorn maker (I don't eat popcorn! That's the kicker!), standard to metric kitchen scale. All of which are bulky and just take up space in my pantry or cabinets. Also, sometimes she totally ignores my requests. Nice wine decanter equals goofy colored, plastic margarita pitcher with matching glasses with squiggly stems. /picky can I go die now :|

I don't like asking for specific things, so my parents send ridiculous stuff sometimes. When we lived in an apartment with no lawn, they sent us humongous wooden snowman lawn ornaments for Christmas once. Through the mail! Those things probably cost more to ship than to buy! We didn't have any place to put them (not even to store them really, our place was tiny) and we don't even like decorating for Christmas. xD I hate to admit it, but we said thanks and that the snowmen were adorable, then took them straight to Goodwill. Parents. They are crazy! Edit: Plus sometimes I can't ask for specifics, because they would completely disapprove of what I want. "Can I have five million and two Anne Rice novels, Mom?" "Uh ok, let's see what Anne Rice writes about... WHAT!? VAMPIRE EROTICA?! Here, have a daily devotion guide and ANOTHER Bible, you apparently need it!" xD Even though I don't even read the erotica stuff, just the fun novels. My German grandmother made the BEST bread! Since we're not at the cabin a lot we heat water in a big oil drum and use some kinda hose connector thingy for showers and stuff (and electricity from a generator though we don't use it much) and he makes bread by digging under the fire and putting a pot thingy with dough in it and it's awesome >_> lol Caitsith.Zahrah said: » volkom said: » Bismarck.Leonkasai said: » volkom said: » I uninstalled every game off my laptop last night. It's just bad when they come to visit and notice that what they bought you has magically disappeared. AWKWARD! LOL! |
