Yeah I have 98% of it's functions off.
But I can't complain about the offsite backup.
Main thing I use and since I didn't pay awwwwwwww yeah.

Oh my parents decided to buy an extra subscription to it because "the guy at best buy said it was good". All I could tell them is that they just wasted their money, I'm not letting that piece of ***be put on a computer anywhere near me. I'd rather have no anti-virus than one that thinks EVERYTHING is a virus and wants to hog 10x the amount of resources than it should.

I'll stick to AVG or Avast myself.


edit~ It's annoying really, I went to school for this exact thing and they still take the word of the dumbass at best buy who couldn't tell you if this package of ram is ddr3 or not (it said it on the package). For the record, I don't buy computer parts there, I just love to test/tease the dumbasses working there who don't deserve to even be around computers.

Yeah if I was worried about processing power or RAM use I woulda spent my own money on something.
But 12gb of RAM and i7-960 overkill anything I run. So I didn't say no to free crap.

Back before I knew anything about computers, my grandpa was being a drunk dumbass with my uncle who is also a drunk and a dumbass and they were *** around with the breaker box outside trying to rig up something, basically every single electronic in this house instantly ceased to work, we didn't have anything on a surge protector.. My computer, all the TVs, even the damned microwave..

So I call up to Bestbuy figuring that a PSU probably isn't going to be that expensive and there's a good chance that if I just replace the PSU my computer will function.. I give them the current one I have, the wattage and everything, trying to see if they have a replacement and they tell me they only have something several hundred watts more than what I had in it at the time..

I ask them "could putting a higher rated PSU in my computer fry everything?"

I was told "Yeah, it probably would"

Knowing all that I know now, I really wish I could go back in time and *** slap him over the phone for being so damned stupid.

Or you could just ask him what he thinks would be the best processor they have. I can almost guarantee he will point you to the most expensive one there is, which will most likely be a lolbulldozer.

Usually I completely disagree with the salesman and he's like well this isn't my field and I'm like yeahhhhh I built my own PC and keep up with this stuff as a hobby.

That's similar to a story my Information Systems professor told us one time.

He does computer repair/maintenance/construction for people in his free time and once he had someone who brought him a desktop they had taken to Radio Shack and they didn't fix it. Anyway, he opened the case and where the battery on the motherboard goes, radio shack had soldered a 9V battery in it's place. I don't really remember too much more of the story, I started laughing frantically and head/desk'ing after that part.

It's rarely ever the geek squad guys that are out on the floor area. Hell it's still rare to even find a geek squad person that knows what they are doing.

Why would Best Buy hire anyone who knows anything about electronics, ***would you hire a child to work at Toys R' Us?

From what I've learned recently, Bestbuy already searches their employees before they leave like they're criminals.

I would still hire competent people who know and understand computers and technology if that's basically all my store sold.. As it is, they're the laughing stock of anyone who knows anything about computers..

Going to Bestbuy for advice on computers is like hiring a blind man to be an interior decorator..

Reading all of these similes is like watching Hilter on ice skates.

I went in one time and heard someone asking about networking for a LAN party and having internet. The BB employee was 100% BSing his way through it. I waited for him to leave then went up to the person and was like "I've been to many many LAN parties. He was way off. <correct info>"
