Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
About time
I'm still pretty stoked about being able to ride an Iron Giant
Draylo said: » Ixion mount... we can finally summon Ixion ![]() I hope there is free-to-play during this so I can pick up that mount because I've been taking a break. FFXI just don't have the pull on me that it used to. Then again, not much to really do other than hit the feeder bar of daily login chores which burn me right the frick out quickly. Hopefully Cerberus at some point too lol
Also my toy photographer skills now.. Asura.Vyre said: » I'm still pretty stoked about being able to ride an Iron Giant When you get it, go into first-person view. Trust me. It has a neat effect. Man those Twitter employees are living the dream right now. They get a nice, fat severance check, then they can collect unemployment and take the entire holiday off. Get a new job next year.

https://www.ign.com/articles/square-enix-symbiogenesis-is-a-nft-collectible-art-experience-not-a-parasite-eve-revival?utm_source=twitter Story/Article by George Yang: "Square Enix has officially announced Symbiogenesis, a new NFT collectible art project that’s coming in Spring 2023 alongside a free browser service. "Symbiogenesis is brand-new entertainment content set in a self-contained world where a wide cast of characters symbiosis, all of which can be collected as digital art; an interactive story and a dedicated community," Square Enix says in a statement. "The art can be used for social media profile pictures (PFP) and as a character in a story that takes place in an alternate world where the player can ’untangle’ a mystery by completing missions that revolve around questions of the monopolization and distribution of resources. With each strategic move players make, more of the story unfolds." It was rumored to be some sort of Parasite Eve revival due to the word Symbiogenesis meaning a process where two separate organisms combine to create one. Notably, this process is the basis for Parasite Eve’s story. Those who were hoping for a new Parasite Eve game will undoubtedly be disappointed. Square Enix already mentioned it was interested in dabbling in blockchain games. Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda ushered in 2022 with a New Year’s letter explaining how the metaverse would be an upcoming hot topic within the games industry and for the company. And then earlier this year, the company also sold a Cloud Strife figure that doubled as an NFT. The last Parasite Eve game was The 3rd Birthday, which was released in 2011 for the PlayStation Portable." Image related (not anything I made myself):
Oh boy I remember reading about that. Square-Enix also said recently that they're doubling down on their blockchain efforts.
And yeah there's quite a bit of irony in the now giant corporation whose claim to fame (at least in North America) is a game whose story is about a giant corporation screwing up the habitability of the planet for a few bucks now screwing up the habitability of the planet for a few bucks. ...Especially when one of their NFTs is related to said game lol Though I will give them the tiniest bit of credit: supposedly the blockchain they're using is proof-of-stake as opposed to proof-of-work, which is to say they're not killing us quite as badly as something like Bitcoin does. They just realized they've become non-fun, so they're just expanding it to include "gible token"
Well. ***. "Are we the baddies?"
Quote: Final Fantasy 7 Battle Royale The First Soldier Shutting Down Barely a Year After Launch Servers close in January. https://www.ign.com/articles/final-fantasy-7-battle-royale-the-first-soldier-shutting-down-barely-a-year-after-launch They are taking loss after loss after loss and never learning anything from it. RadialArcana said: » They are taking loss after loss after loss and never learning anything from it. All of those idiots at EA and ABK and Ubisoft and whatnot just haven't figured it out yet. Square-Enix is only company smart enough to realize this and is why they're phasing themselves out of the industry! Games aren't games anymore. They are loot boxes with "surprise mechanics" (gambling basically). The games I see people play now are for phones and are just daily log ins for "pulls" of things hoping to get a rare something or another. SE is not immune to this as some games I've been interested in (based on title or theme) are gacha games. Fire Emblem Heroes (Not SE, but still). Grand Blue Fantasy (remember that crossover with SE?. Brave Exvius. Dragon Quest Tactics. Dissidia Opera Omnia. FF Record Keeper. Nier Reincarnation.
What pisses me off most is that it seems that Octopath Traveler 2 is this kind of game too. At least I can look forward to Suikoden 1+2 HD remaster and Eiyuden Chronicle. Also Triangle Strategy (worst frickin name ever on that one though) when it comes to PC. True that. That's why I live forever in the Early '00s, when even the mere thought of paying real-life money for an in-game cosmetic item would cause an uproar across the gaming industry.
Someone had to be the first to take the hit for the ones to come after. They were just too soon, audience wasn't dumb enough yet.
(it's kind of amazing just how fast humans are sliding downward) AH points should be like lootcrates
For just $5 to Rooks, you can get an extra 100,000 pts I do be enjoing saving the pink haired slaves in Triangle Strategy, a game 100% about Salt.

Harvestella is first Square Enix game to offer non-binary option in a character creator "Our game is for everyone." https://www.eurogamer.net/harvestella-is-first-square-enix-game-to-offer-non-binary-option-in-a-character-creator?utm_source=sqex-social&utm_content=eurogamerinterview&utm_campaign=harvestella Pretty game. Nice that they are using four of something that isn't crystals. (It's seasons.) I care around zero percent about the gender choices including non-binary. Tons of games have had the male/female choice forever and my choice doesn't really affect gameplay. Now if it was a choice of who (whom?) to marry like in "Dragon Quest 5 Hand of the Heavenly Bride" and the choices have different stats, equipment, and abilities. Then we're having a conversation. You literally have to pick "best waifu". ![]() PS: It's Bianca. I did a battle pass once. I really wanted a specific skin for my favourite League of Legends character. I paid something like $20 to unlock it, and then had to grind something like 200 games in a period of 4 weeks or else I could never ever get that skin again.
Thankfully I was able to play games vs. bots, and even "Intro" difficulty would count, meaning you could get one win every 10 minutes or so. But I was completely burned out. If you include the ~5 minutes or so between matches, it took about 50 hours. Ironically, after I got that skin I ended up never playing it again lol I'm genuinely not sure what's worse: the nature of loot boxes preying on gambling addicts, or the nature of battle passes preying on obsessive-compulsivists. Either way, the video game industry is absolutely voracious and it seriously needs to start getting regulated. Valefor.Esdain said: » SquareEnix getting all about them NFTs and getting woke. With that, all you have to do is write 850 posts over the next 3 weeks in order to unlock a permanent gold border around your profile pic! But you'd better hurry- after that period is over, it will never come back! :) We forgot to mention the gold border only appears in posts in the P&R section. womp womp |
