Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
Finally upgraded in the end to the s22 ultra and tab s8 ultra. The phone was really good, camera is amazing especially in night time. The tablet is just bigger compared to my tab s7+. Only downside is i cant find a good case, the samsung one doesnt protect it
i like my z flip 3. the small form factor is nice and i love the feeling of flipping up or down to answer/end a call.
still rocking my note 20 ultra. waiting for a big generational leap in performance before i switch. ipad pro serves for most of my consumption now anyway.

Ya'll hipsters and updating phones for pleasure. I'd still be using my S7 if it would have been decent on this carrier and as much as I'd like a 5g phone, I don't see the need to get rid of this pixel 3xl. Although I could probably stand to wipe it... Jetackuu said: » pixel 3xl This is still only my third Smart Phone. my s10 finally kicked it last week and I'm having to look at replacements. The entire industry is just so offensive to me in terms of the amount of waste generated by it over the years...meanwhile I can't get a damn normal straw any more.

Don't forget the slavery and the child labor. But because these cell phones are so universal, I think it would be hard for any one government to make a difference. The whole world would have to change simultaneously, and I can't see that happening. If (for example) Canada were to ban the sale of electronics that didn't have replaceable parts, I don't think companies like Apple or Samsung would even bat an eye. BUT BRO, STRAWS WILL FILL 57837458943 LANDFILLS EVERY MINUTE Meanwhile, here's even jankier plastic covid tests that are made of plastic, one use and toss em. Don't forget to test every 32 seconds BUT DON'T YOU DARE DRINK WITH A STRAW So like, the big rub with staws is that they're entirely unnecessary.
You don't see as much bitching about sporks right? Cause you "have to" eat with "something" but the entire existence of straws is superfluous. Don't want a plastic straw, absolutely don't want a paper straw, don't want to carry a metal straw. Don't use a straw at all. Don't use a straw at all. I will admit the bamboo ones aren't awful. My point mostly was what Jessikah points out- there are such bigger issues out there than straws that they're a great distraction from other concerns that could have a bigger impact, but require real action. Working in an industry who's entire existence is based around repairing things vs replacing them has made me very jaded against the tech industry as a whole. (Just to be safe, that isn't a political stance is it? I don't think I know anyone along the political spectrum who opposes the idea...) Of course it's political. It's anti-profit. Which is fundamentally unamerican. And therefor only promoted by pedos and commies.
(also, it's ALWAYS about distraction. it's always about money and distraction. Argue about this dumb *** thing instead of eating Elon) Ragnarok.Jessikah said: » Leviathan.Celebrindal said: » Working in an industry who's entire existence is based around repairing things vs replacing them has made me very jaded against the tech industry as a whole. (Just to be safe, that isn't a political stance is it? I don't think I know anyone along the political spectrum who opposes the idea...) Part of me does understand that tech is in the place that many industries have to pass through early on in their existence- where advancements out-pace the expected lifespan of their product, so there is some logic of releasing new products at the pace they are. But there has to be some kind of responsibility shared by both consumer and producer when the resources to make such products are limited, expensive, and result in waste that will be with us for thousands of years. I'm not saying that manufacturers bear this responsibility on their own- consumers' habits of showing off new purchases like they were our children, and the self-worth we've connected to having things are the real culprit. I just no longer expect the average citizen anywhere to think beyond themselves. About the straw topic, once they approved the law to forbid its distribution (the kinda of law that decrease people rights due to some unique way to see the world and its preservation that are suddenly and almost like orchestrated applied in several cities at same time - that is the globalist influence for you) i went and bought a box with 500 of it as I always have my drink with one daily.
Pandemic hit and in the first year of it, i ran out of straws. Still i tried to buy another box of it but the straws sold were ***and i never used them. Didnt matter much though as during pandemic my daily drink werent that readily available so i just ended breaking my habit. Nowaday i do have my non disposable (or at least not quickly disposable) straw, but i just drink it in small cups. Also helps reducing the intake of calories Pantafernando said: » the kinda of law that decrease people rights Ragnarok.Jessikah said: » Pantafernando said: » the kinda of law that decrease people rights And that is how we return to the centuries-old debate of whether the Law is a Shield or a Sword. Easy, it's neither. Laws these days are created for profit via fine.
They're not protective or preventative, they're retributive. It's all a *** scam. Leviathan.Celebrindal said: » And that is how we return to the centuries-old debate of whether the Law is a Shield or a Sword. Obligatory "if the punishment is a fine..." here

Oh that wasn't my intent in my comment whatsoever, nor the original function of that debate. Asura.Eiryl said: » Easy, it's neither. Laws these days are created for profit via fine. Its based on what should be the function of Law, not how has been applied over history. The reason being that while Law itself should be truly unbiased, the application of the Law always ends up in the hands of human beings...and that's when the sword shows itself stronger than any shield. Bad application and implementation. |
