Urgh, just had the dumbest clusterfuck of "experienced" players in A9S yet.

We had a new player, a dragoon, who was given a heads up as to the Refurbisher fight, and to his credit, performed fairly well. On the other hand, those who gave him the heads up... kept getting caught in the very ***they warned him not to.

"Don't stack on Acid Rain" - so some of them stacked on acid rain.

"Stay behind him when he does scrapline" - Monk wanders off to hit Dragon Kick or Twin Snakes from the side as Scrapline goes off, and dies.

"Kill adds, 200%!" Me and the dragoon are the only ones, aside from the OT, going after the adds.

We wiped 5 times, one of which was from hitting the enrage timer for an auto wipe.

I never did understand Monks who have issues like this consistently during a fight. I understand that positionals get kinda hardwired into your head but I feel like fight mechanics end up beating out my positional instincts 90% of the time.

First 1-2 deaths is understandable but after that... Mer.

Interesting. I think it'd be kind of hard to get everyone in the LS to Xfer though, and then all of their friends, and all of their friends' friends, and their friends' friends' friends.

Pretty much this. Even if they add the FC transfer incentives relatively quickly I don't think I could pull us away from Excalibur simply because of all the people in Linkshell or with friends on server.

I guess we can at least hope some Excalibur folks decide to jump ship and free up some space. But that is a lot to hope for.

I have too many friends in other groups on the server so you won't get rid of me that easy.

I don't see the reason to transfer, the exp bonus and the gold feathers? Or to create a bunch of characters and level them to 30 for a mil each?

Not something I'd switch for since a mil isn't even hard to get

The only thing worthwhile is the free 15 days of sub, but you can get that by making a new character on whichever server and spending a few hours leveling it to 30.

The incentives are nice for new players, loner players or who play exclusively with a small group. But there isn't anything in there that should be all that tempting to the general player base.

Not much of a reason, just making it easier.

Housing reimbursement, No Change fee, no gil limit(aside from max gil limit). Some of the reason people don't transfer is because of things like the gil limit and transfer cost.

I can think of a few people just off the top of my head who are incredibly adamant about not server transferring simply because they're afraid they'll lose money in the transfer.

I can think of more that don't because of the cost involved, but then complain consistently about being on a high population server.

Aside from housing I've never really understood why people take issue with high pop servers... Excal is on the higher end and even it becomes ghost towny certain times of the day so I can't imagine playing on a low pop one.

That's what I mean, it's the only noteworthy reason to care about server population.

I'm surprised they made it so easy to cheese that free 15 days of game time by making a new character on a new server thing
