Want to build a dredger. I could get a OHV engine that I should be able to convert but trash water pumps can be found used and that is just the same and then if someone needs it in case of a flooded house it'll be good for that.

Yeah that can be most of their stuff. Not really going to invest too much but I have some time before winter hits. It's on my friends farm so it's more like a creek than a river.
But atleast I'll be able to fish and shoot off some rounds while down state. Probably have my revolver and a AR-15 to go plinking with.
Speaking of, when I bought my double barrel, I demanded dual triggers. The old man at the shop asked why and I said I wanted to be able to fire off both at one. He looked at me like I was nuts, and went and got one with dual triggers assuming I'd back out when he told me it "will kick the ***out of" me. To this day I have never fired it one at a time. I'm a recoil junkie.

My understanding, from having dealt with various pump OEM's like Atlas Copco, Wacker, Gorman-Rupp, etc. is that trash pump impellers are specifically designed to process solids that might be suspended in the water, whereas other types of pumps designed purely for moving water might clog in the same applications.
