It was obviously fixed then. I've seen Baja Blast empty while Pitch Black was fully stocked.

Anna Ruthven said: » Need a rerelease of Pepsi Blue. Ehhh. The thing about Pepsi Blue is that my wife's favorite color is blue and it was released at the time in our lives where if you identify with anything, you latch onto it and make it part of you, so she drank a lot of it. It was okay. Kinda tasted like cotton candy. But the nostalgia is strong with that one, similar to Crystal Pepsi but more specific to us. That said, Baja Blast actually tastes great and has nothing to do with nostalgia. For me anyhow. Do you guys think it should be a newspaper's responsibility to fact check opinion articles?
I know this particular news site reads them, and slightly edits them for grammar etc. But today someone responded to a piece I wrote about Brake Checking, and they said that it is illegal to pass traffic that is turning left by going into the right lane anywhere in the states. It took like 2 minutes to find the section of NY law that says it is permitted and exactly when. If they are proofreading and editing the posts anyway, why not take the time to cite something when it is clearly incorrect like that. You post some misinformation like that with all these stupid people around here and you are bound to have someone take the law into their own hands and run someone off the road. It's illegal to run off the road to do so, but not to go in another lane. People really don't comprehend law. *Can vary by area

Is it an editorial/op-ed or a letter to the editor? If the former they're likely to be considerably more culpable for any misinformation. If the latter I'm pretty sure there's significantly less burden placed upon them. Grumpy Cat said: » Do you guys think it should be a newspaper's responsibility to fact check opinion articles? It's not their responsibility. However they will put a disclaimer at the top of the article that opinions expressed are not shared or a reflection of the publication. Also, in regard to the specific topic, people don't understand road laws for ***. You need only listen to people comment on the "awful, illegal" things people do on motorcycles to understand this. Frequently those "awful, illegal" practices are for the safety of everyone and entirely within the law. People are very, very unclear on traffic laws to the point where our licensing systems aren't just deficient, they're borderline culpable in traffic incidents for giving these idiots licenses.

That said, if I were the editor, I'd be fact checking it myself anyhow or -- more likely for me -- I'd be posting an editor's note along with the unedited article explaining why and how the person is wrong. Too bad it's not here, it would have saved me a ticket awhile back. White Ranger Tiger Power!
Never had a partner before? What would he call the Dragon Zord? Hush, not going to nerd to that level right now.

I don't see it just online, but it was a thing even when I went to the gym previously and I often hear also my brother and his friends talk about how they hate legs day. For me that's almost all I do so I'm not sure lol. THIIIIS.

There are a lot of guys who focus on upper body for aesthetic appearances and/or because leg day isn't always very enjoyable. *shrug* How does any meme start? At least this one has some truth to it. I despise squats. I do them because they're a great exercise. But I hate them. Edit: Also, have you see pictures of anyone who is super buff but skips leg days? Those guys are out there, and they're hilarious. *sigh* Coruscanti turned into a pulse cell :p

I've lifted a lot of weights in my time, not as much as saaay, Tigerwoods(love that guy, envy his body, envy his motivation to workout), but I've lifted quite a bit. A lot of dudes hate squats cause of the way the bar digs into your neck, even with a brace. Furthermore, quite a few guys I know have some leg injury from playing a sport, and they can't really squat much. Also, since it interferes with your ability to walk the next day(at least if you workout to gsin strength; you will be sore), most guys tend to avoid it. Personally I love squats. The last time I was on a strict weight training schedule, I got my squat max up to 435 pounds(197 kilo). It's not some earthshatter weight amount, particularly for squatas, but I felt great about it, since it was almost 3 times my bodyweight at the time. Also, dudes who just want to show off their junk and/or the sock they want you to think is your junk. |
