Well, for me it's more just about making sure that if someone has to go, it's not someone who either 1) is dear to me or 2) is properly eligible for sainthood because they rescue orphans from fires or some ***.

A friend of mine has a boyfriend who treats her like absolute ***, he cheats on her any chance he gets because he knows she`ll forgive him because "he`s the best guy in the world" Every time I tell her he`s a useless ***who`s stealing oxygen I'm the bad guy. I swear if I could get away with murder he`d be #1 on my to do list.

Some girls just aren't as great as you think they are just because they're pretty and not mean to you. Remember that, painful as it may be to hear, to some women being nice to all men isn't their true personality, it's a defense mechanism. And some are legit nice but they just simply don't find you to be relationship material.
It's important to remember that just because they're dating an *** doesn't necessarily mean they're wrong for each other. Different people value different things in a partner.
Painful to hear about a friend and I won't be offended if you disregard it or disbelieve it, and maybe I'm wrong. Clearly I don't have all the details.
But TL;DR -- keep your chin up, trite as it may be, there are plenty of fish in the sea and they're not all gonna bite on your tackle.
