I probably really should go home today. I am kinda on edge with the news about my friend's dad from last night and already a teacher be pissing me off.

We have a Mac lab for one of the art teachers because you can't teach photoshop without a Mac right? (side note, shouldn't she teach SAI or something that you know... people in the industry ie these kids if they really art it up are actually using)

Right before break she came in and asked us to upgrade iMovie on all her machines. She didn't put in a ticket, she just came in and mentioned it to someone.

Now here is the thing, iMovie is as up to date as it can be on the OS we have running. We would have to upgrade to 10.11 (I refuse to call it 'el capitan') for iMovie to go any higher. The only new features iMovie picked up were higher resolutions and framerates and 10 new video filters.

We have 3 computers upgraded to 10.11 and so far all 3 have issues with corrupted logins, administrator passwords being locked out randomly, occasionally booting up and not seeing any user accounts existing. At this point I put the brakes on things until we can figure out what is causing these issues. Another tech emailed the teacher with a slightly flowery description of what is going on and the teacher simply forwarded it to another tech and CC'd the principal on it... yeah that is a line crossed for me. You don't need to get everyone's supervisor involved just because we aren't doing every single thing you want as fast as you want it.

Now the principal is breathing down our necks about it and the mid level guys here are telling me "just do it". How about no? How about I have a set of professional ethics that put doing things correctly above just getting something done because some whiney teacher is impatient?

I just don't think I am going to get my point across in the state I am in without it turning into either some emotional ***or a string of cursewords that will require summoning all the sailor spirit left in me to manifest.

That is because Playonline is down atm along with FFXI(my guess is they had to kick all the PS2/Xbox users.) Its suppose to go back up @ 11:30am EST.
