Version 4 is apparently going to be the online/website version but since they have no one actually working on that they better think about 3.9999 happening lol.
With video games it is normally
Base version#.Majorpatch #.minor patch#

So for example Diablo III.
2.4.35616
2 means it is on it's 1st exp pack
4 means the 4th major patch since the exp pack
35616 is the # minor patches and bug fixes

Nintendo is the Apple of the consoles world. If this kid was smart, he'd get a little ziploc container, fill it halfway with table salt, lay the DS inside and slap the lid, vented, on for about... two days, depending on how it got wet and with what.
He's 8... lol.. and it was probably milk. I'm not sure what Japanese kids drink at school though.
