Honest question: why live there still if the dogs are so obnoxious? You're an adult with a job, why not get your own place? Even a small place is preferable to getting woken up all the time, yeah?

Ah. I assumed you had a good reason, just wasn't sure what it was.
I was more or less out the door at eighteen; went to college, but didn't even come home for summers (worked for the college over summer, running conferences and such). I have no frame of reference whatsoever for living at home after I was legally allowed to leave, but I realize that I'm an outlier in that regard.
(Home life was fine, but I wanted to get away.)

Granted I wanted to leave that abusive *** behind and never look back, but no where to go, and no money to get there makes it kind of hard >.> So I moved out when I was 18.
My job is in the family business so dad's work is seasonal too, my mom can't work and my sister is absolutely *** horrible with money and blows it as soon as she gets it and she lives here...then there's my niece and her BF and their two boys so costs go up.
If my sister and my niece and co moved out, in time I could get an apartment... Of course when work is out of season I'd get evicted. Don't wanna quit and leave my dad till he's ready to call it quits.

Then I joined the Navy and became my own man... not! Kinda feel like it was just trading one kind of parent for another(actual parent for organizational parent).
Here I am, institutionalized, and actually about to go back home to live with a my Dad for a few months. Kinda don't want to, but it's the best choice economically. Plus I haven't really been home except a couple Xmas visits. Kind of bittersweet.

How well does that work for you? It's always been too laggy for me to do it well.
I've only ever had one person recognize FFXI. And he was a young apprentice repair main who came to set up the TeVo and Router. He got kinda upset when i said the games dying.

I know a few people IRL that have played, don't really know anyone that still plays.
Oddly enough I've met people even on the same server, which was just odd.
