now suspense and horror are two different things, i must make that very clear.
Suspense is far more exhilarating to me than any loud noise or graphic image. <3 Well done suspense sequences, no matter what the media. Leaving me on the edge of the seat wanting to know what happens next is suspense in my book :D
have you watched the new trigun?
The new movie? Trigun: Badlands Rumble?
Any good if you have? it's good.
on the topic of suspense.
shiki=must watch for that.
I haven't seen the new Trigun ; ; You find it online or is the DVD out now?
Shiki is really good, thanks for the reminder (and recommendation) =P I haven't caught the most recent ep. try animedreaming.tv
i'd imagine you can find it elsewhere online as well though.

I started playing Fatal Frame 3 a few weeks ago and had to turn it off. I think my tolerance has gotten worse. It helped that the first time I played Silent Hill 2 I had an invincible cheat on.

Well, I guess this part is true. I just assumed most people lumped the two together. While cool, scary/gory/whatever stuff isn't actually scary. It's the "oh ***what's going to happen."
Ionno.

I was using Red Kawa file server, and using files that are compatible with the PS3. I tried converting my MKV files but I had garbled audio and a loss of visual quality.

I used to, but I don't have my own TV any more so I have to use the TV in the main room and I can't be bothered to move it all the time.

How fast does it stream, and at what quality? I don't know the specs, it played my bleach/naruto files from Dattebayo well. It worked for the 360 for a bit too, but the last update *** with it. Since I have hdmi out on my laptop, I just watch on it now. (with monitor)
edit: just looked, that link has specs.

Oh cool thanks, It'll be handy for MKV files and other unreadables anyways, I'll probably just use Red kawa for transferral still.

also I've heard some news about the ps3's signing being hacked to where homebrew can easily run now, so there may be prospects in format support.

Over Xmas I got scared after playing too much Shadow of the Colossus. I kept thinking one of the little ones was gonna run up the stairs.

I love horror games where at certain points in the game you'd hear random, blood curdling screams in the back ground. Then you have the monsters popping out of nowhere.

I think they are, not that Ive played them.
Scary movies will keep me up at night for months..when I was a kid I slept in my parents room for 3weeks after seeing HocusPocus 8( Im still a wimp like that. There is no way Id go near a scary video game.
what makes video games scarier imo is that essentially the stuff is happening to "you" and having a health bar adds to that effect.
although listening to other people play games and screaming is extremely amusing.

Is that the one with the three witches? I got scared after that too :/
Well to you anyways.. I've been playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent and I, out of the middle of nowhere, came to the conclusion that horror/survival games tend to induce fear more readily in me than any horror movie ever has. If you are the same way, I'm curious why you suppose that is? The only thing I can even come up with for an answer is that with a movie you're simply watching it, you're not expected to react to the situation as you are in a video game.. However in the game, you are part of the experience and are forced to react to the situation.
