Just saying it's upsetting when high profile political figures can run their mouths to the public so loosely and avoid responsibility when those who may or may not be mentally stable take things too literally or out of context and decide to commit such acts as we saw this week.

To a degree, politicians should be responsible and own up to the cause and consequence of their rhetoric.

still freedoms don't really have to do with what happened yesterday, not much of the political right have an accurate concept of their actual freedoms or rights, but as for Sarah Palin and the like, they do indeed lead a mass of idiots, it's not surprising this happened at all. As for punishing them for indirectly causing it, I have mixed feelings on and don't really have an answer.

To equal it out some leftist nut should off Palin, that'd be fair, no?

Hey, Batman doesn't use guns or kill his targets for a reason!
lolidunno

Just a little numb from something so sad, and thinking that something as ridiculous as this could have indirectly influenced it to happen.

And to have the one responsible for making such a picture say "We had no intentions of invoking violence with crosshairs."

Yes, Mrs Griffords. Now since you owned a gun, and believed others owning guns please just admit it is your fault. Your rhetoric shot you and clearly no other pastie faced *** shot you or anything. Even if one had it still be your fault!

Just saying politicians should be more careful and wise with their choice of words and symbolism within their propaganda. After all, they speak for their party which has thousands of followers, that may or may not take your heed too seriously or literally and or out of context.

Yes, please politicians take all your speeches that are crafted to already be this way and walk on broken egg shells because the rest of the world is full of *** ***.

Are you really this naive? I believe a second ago you asked someone the same thing ffs.

I'm being fairly serious on the subject.
I'm not asking them to stop being aggressive or vigorous in their campaign or direction of policy, but at lest show a degree of self control and moderation considering one's level of influence across the masses. Or rather at the very least, take responsibility for the consequences and repercussions of being an indirect cause to tragedies such as this one.

before making your statement perhaps you should have read the whole thing. it clearly is not a call to violence but to 'target' the districts where people could be voted out of office. but then you wouldnt want to read the poster and take the whole message into consideration. it seams you would rather just look at part of it and try to find the worst possible explanation for it to fit your perspective.

I haven't seen anything that links SP to the gunman. He never mentioned her in his youtube videos or his myspace profile.

Symbolism. It is a powerful thing.
Was crosshair reticules the most wise choice to make in your choice of key/legend features on a map for this cause?
Regardless of whether SP is a link or not to the assailant, the lack of responsibility taken or self moderation in her own propaganda is unsettling, especially in light of such a devastation.

That being said, I don't know how you can look at that map full of crosshairs and think it's entirely appropriate. A map like that wouldn't have been green lighted in the era of the JFK, MLK, RFK etc. assassinations with good reason.

I hate to make blanket statements, but when someone like Sarah Palin releases a poster like that under her sponsorship of the Tea Party, it seems ignorant to ignore the possibility of putting two and two together when the tea party followers are notorious for their rather unorthodox methods of evoking political change to say the least.

Not that the shooter in Arizona was linked to being a tea party member or follower of Palin's campaign, but the correlation between their anti-government agendas is not something to be entirely overlooked.

I would love to be a politician for a week. I would be that politician people loved to hate. If I ever won an election and people had a problem with something I would explain the situation from my point of view very professionally and careful not to offend anyone and then at the very end I would tell the people in direct opposition to *** off. I say a week to because that is how long I last before being kicked out of office.

On a serious note you can actually just *** yourself (see someone got told it already, how wonderful) for putting this on the politicians.

How about you call up your local congressman or woman and ask them to *** draw you a bath and prepare some Cheerios for your morning breakfast. Really, just *** off.
That compassion cube will never stab you, but using your free speech might and your corpse need to own up to it clearly as it was your fault for speaking freely.

Why so hostile?
You're welcome to disagree and make your valid arguments against it, but really; your anger seems rather misdirected and unnecessary.

Why would anyone give a *** about what Sarah Palin says Anyway? She has the political acumen of a ***-filled sock, which is a little more fitting a description of the woman from the state nobody gave a ***about until "Deadliest Catch".

You'd be surprised how many devotees she has.
Curious if she's still serious about her candidacy in 2012.

Sarah Palin in office would be a 4year long episode of Tom Goes to the Mayor.

I think we'd be better off with a 4 year episode of Earnest goes to Office.

Anyone else find it weird on SP's poster the text makes pharmaceutical references? Must be that whole health care debunk thing the GOP is aiming for.

Spicy's got a point though, we're to to the point where politicians are even afraid to "Point" Their finger as a gesture, instead doing that HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE Knuckle/fist point thing. I guess because pointing is too aggressive?

And *** these Mcdonald's ads, they're lagging my ***for some reason.

Edit: Said "Point" So many times now, the word lost meaning.

Oh I won't deny the degree of watered down political speeches and propaganda has become as of late, but to this day it remains vigorous, aggressive and in some cases almost violent. I simply believe the crosshairs thing was irresponsible and crossing the line just a tad.

I don't want to so much as play the blame game. That really doesn't solve or do anything after the deed is done. I simply want a degree of responsibility taken for one's choice of words, symbolism, propaganda, and rhetoric within their campaign to the public and their party alike. For Palin to simply acknowledge that her crosshair poster was over the top, unncessary and potentially dangerous would be a great deal of necessary rectification.

Regardless of whether it's been done before, it is over the top. I really don't see how a shooting rampage in direct correlation to Palin's partisan "targets", symbolized with reticules could be completely overlooked and disregarded.

Many things are dangerous with the wrong mindset, but that goes to my point earlier. When you're a figure of great influence to great masses, you have to show a degree of self control and moderation and be careful and selective of one's words and symbols. A slip up or something as blatant as this can indirectly be a cause to what we saw just the other day.

Perhaps you're right. There really is nothing that can be done to "rectify" this whole mess. But it's just insult to injury to see such blatant and disregard dished out and then when ***hits the fan to abandon and avoid any and all involvement or responsibility. Direct or indirect.

They did it to Kennedy, MLK and Michael Jackson and you think they'll just stop sometime and say "okay World we're guilty, we give up, you win"?

I see the lolCONspiracy Theorists have had their little Tin Foil club get together. Are you fools ready to stop slinging mud at each other while the Globalist Fat Cats sit and /laugh at you? Or are you still believing that CONspiracy Theory nonsense they peddle to you on that little mind control black box you all call the T.V.?

Okay lets see here. Gabby Giffords, PRO GUN. However she was against Semi Autos, but FOR Concealed carry. So, being that she showed some signs of loving Liberty (and I do say some) the lolNAZIs can NOT stand for her to be among their ranks.

Gabby was doing quite a few things that crossed both of the Leftist party lines (Leftist GOP and further Left DEM) I didn't agree with ALL of her views but did share some commonalities like cutting the pay cut for congress by 5% or more.

Those commonalities were crevasses to over come for the lolEstablishment Banksters and their ilk (their ilk /cheerleaders are in this thread) were far too great. They realized Gabby needed to "be gotten rid of" much the same as Kennedy, Attempt on Commie Reagan (after he started to wake up), MLK etc.

So, in comes Mr. Loughner, a young man who's confused TREMENDOUSLY about the Political Spectrum. (Left=BIG GOVERNMENT, right=no government in case you forgot)

He really didn't know all that much other than he's really interested in Mind Control (because, for the record, he himself is a subject) However he did know about the Banksters System of FIAT so he did show at least some signs of intelligence.

The NWO's AGENDA 21 Plans have been falling apart at the seems (Climategate, 9/11 Truth, lolWikileaks being founded out to be controlled opposition etc.) and so have their little meetings (G8 and G20 summits). Those members belong to the Bilderberg Club, CFR (Council on Foreign Relations) Tri-Lateral commission and Club of Rome. The attendees have been starting to seperate into two camps and bicker amongst each other as to how to rule the World and its inhabitants (you the lolSheeple)

And yet, you the person reading this for some god awful reason believe in a CONspiracy Theory that some little Barbie Doll named Sarah Palin had anything to do with Gabby's shooting? Hello Earth to /shitferbrains have we met yet?

This Jared Loughner shows many signs of an MK Ultra subject as well as the second suspect being his handler. Only time will tell what the Truth of it all is but I know one thing for certain.

Sarah Palin didn't "put out a hit" for Gabby and you can take that to the Banksters Bank! *awaits more lolDrama Llama CONspiracy Theory rants from the crazies*
