I know this information was supposed to keep a closed lid to begin with but to begin censoring people on every social circle is not only futile, but downright ridiculous. censorship as blatant as that in a place of "higher learning" i think would incite people to rise up against that kind of BS too lol.
i'm fine with affiliates of US Gov't wanting to keep their mouth zipped, but doing it to students seems a bit silly, even more so over the pond lol.
Aye, it'd be one thing to make a spectacle of yourself and make signs and use a megaphone to large crowds of people, but to simply discuss contemporary issues going on right now with your peers is nothing to warrant censorship or any other form of enforcement.

Yes, there is certainly the legal matter of said information was obtained. Yes, people are bringing up questions about a site like this.

FCC meets on Dec. 21rst and will undoubtedly mention this (Wikileaks) issue.
i'd lol if a good deal of it got released that day during their meeting. Think about my above post and take into consideration that Wikileaks has been around for awhile now and released lots of other stuff (like Iraq & Afghanistan wars).
If those leaks really comprised the security of U.S. forces overseas, why only now go after them with these seemingly snooze fest of a releases?

The current releases are personally embarrassing to important people.
The previous ones were arguably just embarrassing to generic institutions and the war effort in general.

You'd think, but after 9/11 we willingly extended pretty sweeping powers to the government in the name of national security. We told them they could shut us up pretty much however they see fit.

yes over the pond is my favorite way to describe European nations.
It's not at all, there's a protest about it going on currently with some professors actually joining in. I'm not because I need to learn my *** >.>

I'll have you know my love for the series warrants the uncanny ability to draw ideological connections between Harry Potter and censorship scandals.

Undoubtedly why I think the government is testing it's ability to control the internet and for the upcoming sessions.
Any problems they are accumulating now will most likely be addressed imo.

Makes me wonder how high school teachers in the U.S. have to take this. State schools as well for the matter.

I don't remember high school kids taking that much of an interest in politics tbh.

My high school history class was a joke. All the tests were multi choice.
Who was the first president of the US?
A. Homer Simpson
B. Babe Ruth
C. George Washington
D. Albert Einstein
and people still failed.

my school had like 10 valedictorians...
>.>
<.<
and actually I'm pretty sure my good teachers would have/is discussing stuff about it...maybe not the fine details but possibly some of the cursory stuff.
and of course most people in HS aren't in AP classes.
but I said teachers in the first place.
I'm pretty sure a few of mine would have had a pretty in depth discussion about it.
and they taught both AP and otherwise.

My high school had political classes but I never attended because it was basically painting a gigantic "Beat the ***out of me" sign on my back.
I just pursued it with friends out of school.

The closest we got was having mock elections (presidential) in which most people just checked a random candidate.

we had a mock trial team that wins state competitions pretty regularly.
i think it really just depends where you are located in the country for that stuff.
I bet half the stuff I had when I was in school was cut by now anyway lol.
