Basilisk
Eden of the East
Monster
Blade of the Immortal
Romeo X Juliet
Claymore
Elfen Lied

If you go to either http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ or http://www.anime-planet.com/ and type in the anime you like, you can get recommendations of other animes that are similar to the that specific anime.

Just as a heads up.. I LOVED the anime Hanasaku Iroha.. Its mainly about a JP Hotel and the life of the employees and who will succeed it.. But it is also so much more. From episode one I enjoyed it and lasted until the end. But at episode 24 i sorta stopped and ignored / put it off. But as I finally watch episode 24 and the last 3 episode this really was an excellent anime due to the whole family and its issues of every day hard work. I recommend this anime to any anime lover. It's hard to explain but the overall story and the times and hardships they go through is very touching. I know saying things like this is out of character for me but all in all this is a very well made / drawn anime and the creators deserve every bit of credit. 100% original and very touching. Its excellent. (+ The hairstyles are great^^)

After I hit episode ~13 last night I could not put it down. Definitely the best thing I've seen in a long time. 4:00 am and I'm at episode 22.

Have anyone mentioned Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica? It's my favorite anime of all time. At first I started watching it when JP community was discussing it 6 months ago after Earthquake, then I was attracted by it's unique collage art style and decided to give it a try.

It's "magical girl" genre anime(a genre with young girls use magical power to transform and fight evil monsters like Sailor Moon), but this anime is all about rewriting the formula of this genre while following it to an extend....it has a misleading OP that's exactly the same as all other Maho Shojo anime, but the actual anime itself is nothing like OP. The story itself is extremely well written, about the philosophy theme of karma ,destiny and wish. The story is also paced very nicely and never drag(unlike many anime out there...just goes on and on and unnecessary long).

I watched a lot of anime since I was a kid, and only found 3 anime inspiring and created something new. And this anime is on top of the list in my mind, in terms of music, visual, story and the way it tries to rewrite the formula of an existing genre, it is truly a master piece.

Code Geass was actually pretty good, brilliant plan for the end to make his dream come true.

Personally I find it hard to understand why Code Geass is so popular, I mean I enjoyed season 1, since it introduced an interesting concept. But R2 ruined it. Way too many characters in R2 and none of them are developed very well, a lot of characters just change side easily, and it's just not very convincing when you see characters change side so easily. It also dragged way too much. Season 1 isn't that bad, but R2 I feel all the characters are too flat and totally ruined the whole series.

I'm not trying to bash this anime, but just can't understand why no one ever complained about R2.

As for your Code G reference, I feel the same.. I relate those 2 to Death Note alot. But Light had the notebook laws to hide his true self. In CG he just randomly changed. This is true.

I'm liking Guilty Crown so far. I thought I'd like Horizon but it's been sooo confusing and weird and shitty so far >_> Maybe it'll get better in a few episodes. It's just all over the place.

Which subs are you downloading for Horizon? There's a specific sub group at the moment which is essentially using google translate as the subtitling source, and they're always the first to release, meaning streaming sites (if you use that ***) will use their subs. Watching Hadena subs makes Horizon impossible to understand.

Fate/Zero :)

Spoilered so all the HNNNNNG is contained--
Loving this show so damn much, especially since I'd just recently watched Fate/Stay Night--and how could I NOT watch an anime involving a female knight? (almost spoiled it :x)

Also, I'm watching it on NicoNicoDouga WITHOUT comments for teh awesome--then WITH comments, for the lulz. But a massive spoiler warning for those who choose to watch with the comments; some people have already read the light novels and/or played the visual novel.

-edit- Er, also, I think you need a NND account in order to watch it on that site? It's not really hard to register even if you don't understand Japanese, just hover over the links and read your little Java script thingy. :)

Can sign up on the English one, the accounts work on both .com and JP versions (at least my JP one worked on .com, so I don't see why the reverse wouldn't work) Either way, there's a ton of guides to use too.

Could always wait for UTW--they kinda named themselves AFTER the OVA/Movie. XD (Unlimited Blade Works >> Unlimited Translation Works)

Either work, I usually end up downloading both, watching commie's since they're faster and archiving UTW's because I prefer their translations.

In that case read this it's a website that pretty much explains everything in Horizon, and I think Commie have a brief explanation of the current state of the world on one of the posts on their website.

First 43 minute episode is 500MB. Each subsequent 23 minute episode is ALSO 400-500MB, it is a little silly, but oh well.

I read it already. I still think the show is kinda dumb so far, too much random crap in the beginning :X It might turn out better later but it's just so... weird in the beginning.
