Well...i was playin around in STR gear with one of the new spells Benthic Typhoon...as /thf i usually used vertical cleave or cannonball..(was testing on DC marids for this)

I did CASA Benthic Typhoon @50% TP +96 STR and casting Triumphant roar...the spell hit 2.4K i did it with Efflux later (along with CA,SA) and hit 3.2K...so..did SE really throw BLu a bone and make a spell that dominates Cannonball and Vertical cleave in dmg? (this was also without food as /thf i use Bison steak)

on a side note..Goblin Rush+Benthic Typhoon= Skillchain dmg bonus which seems around (10~15%)

only thing i know...im never gonna set Vertical Cleave again...

Most of the new BLU spells are *** hot.

Goblin Rush, which was a long time coming, turned out to be amazing.

Slightly off-topic, but does anyone know the Defense Down/Magic Defense Down % on Typoon? I'm hoping high so I don't have to use points on Frightful Roar.

Sorry bud, cannonball not gonna get replaced that easily, none of the new spells have anywhere near the same sort of range on them even if they can match/pass the damage.

Situational ***is situational. Also, I haven't put *too* much effort into testing, but the only way to solo darkness is still expiacion > vertical cleave.

Because obviously no other spell is capable of having the same skillchain elements (It does)

Blazza...ive been playing around with the spells Expiacion>Typhoon is Darkness Expiacion>G-rush= fusion and Savage blade>G-rush makes light

and i dunno about CB...Vertical cleave did more dmg in HNM when i used it..and this spell beats VC...all cannonball has is range over this spell the only problem is..Close range spells are more difficult to use in HNM but they do more dmg. unless if you soul voice cannonball

As Blazza said, I could imagine the range still being important on kite fights or fights on mobs that are just too dangerous to be near (like Turul, who actually pushes melee away and/or does vicious AOE versions of AM and thundagas, I recall.)

Even with a fantastic alliance, fights can shift into kite mode quickly at times if things go badly, and if the BLU happens to be /THF, I would think Cannonball would still be good to have as a backup.

cannonball is way more situational than typhoon is at this point most things you can be close on in HNM and the bonus of 10% defense down and magic defense down is to good to pass up.

Hmm, I didn't even notice the 4 posts that popped up between mine and the OP, I must have opened the thread just as it was made, or been blind atm (more likely).

Anyway, the fact that Exp > Benth = darkness is excellent news, the damage seems to be pretty tidy with Benth, and I'm assuming it stacks with SA?

Thing is though, who can be bothered to carry an AGI set around with them? Most people's inventories are already bursting at the seams.

taru ftw!

I don't think an agi set would be too hard to piece together with pieces we already have, as well as the huge amount of agi you can find on our spells.

I actually thought about this last night and came up with this.

Mavi +2 pants may end up outdoing AF+1 though.

Pretty damn sure AF3+2 pants will be best option for every physical spell ever.
