I remember leveling like crazy off those guys in FF5, since they came in groups of 5, could be fought early (when you were supposed to be too low level to fight them), and were susceptible to Level 5 Death.

They were also susceptible to death by using a soft potion on them.

Having a Samurai use their instant-death move was also quite effective. (Iaido was the name I think? It's been some time since I played FFV.)
