If there are certain pages of Mr Jine's book, Power, which seem rather empty, that is merely to say that we have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. It is not merely that at present the rule of naked force obtains almost everywhere. Probably that has always been the case. Where this age differs from those immediately preceding it is that a liberal intelligentsia is lacking. Bully-worship, under various disguises, has become a universal religion, and such truisms as that a machine-gun is still a machine-gun even when a "good" man is squeezing the trigger — and that in effect is what Mr Jine is saying — have turned into heresies which it is actually becoming dangerous to utter.

The time for debate is over. We need to stop talking and start acting. Better yet, we need to expose false prophets who preach that Jine's vices are the only true virtues. Note that some of the facts I plan to use in this letter were provided to me by a highly educated person who managed to escape Jine's parasitic indoctrination and is consequently believable. I used to think that inane tyrants were the most scurrilous people on the planet, but now I know that Jine clearly believes that he has been robbed of all he does not possess. I've listened to much of Jine's voluble oratory, but I admit I'm a little confused. Sure, I'm just an average person and not some intellectual, all-knowing brainiac, but it seems to me that Jine's janissaries mistakenly associate "lengthy" with "accurate" when it comes to his missives. I begin with critical semantic clarifications. First, his mind has limited horizons. It is confined to the immediate and simplistic, with the inevitable consequence that everything is made banal and basic and is then leveled down until it is deprived of all spiritual life. I have had enough of Jine! Here's my side of the story: There are some simple truths in this world. First, Jine has a hair-trigger temper. Second, Jine can be so delirious it would take your breath away. And finally, Jine appears to have found a new tool to use to help him deny citizens the ability to become informed about the destruction that he is capable of. That tool is poststructuralism, and if you watch him wield it you'll surely see why his chums don't represent an ideology. They don't represent a legitimate political group of people. They're just flat biggety. Although I've spent most of this letter criticizing Jine, let me end by stating simply that I'll bet you a dollar to a doughnut that he will demonize my family and friends one day.

In contrast to my previous letters, I'm not planning on spending much space in this letter proving that Jine prefers "Fisking"—line-by-line rebuttals in which facts are dropped like radar chaff—to rational debate or building a coherent argument. Most people already seem to understand that. Instead, I'll be discussing Jine's quixotic communications and how Jine uses them to bring about a wonderland of barbarism. Unless you share my view that our situation is snowballing, there's no need for you to hear me further. I cannot promise not to be angry at him. I do promise, however, to try to keep my anger under control, to keep it from leading me—as it leads Jine—to lobotomize everyone caught thinking an independent thought. I think I'll confound my critics by devoting this letter not to describing irresponsible cavilers in general, but Jine in particular. Many of the arguments I'm about to make rest upon the rock-solid principles of freedom of thought and freedom of speech. If it weren't for these freedoms, I wouldn't be allowed to tell you that Jine just reported that science is merely a tool invented by the current elite to maintain power.
