For those unfamiliar with why this occurs, I've learned while fishing the manta that losing your catch due to lack of skill, when you obviously have necessary skill, or its a monster, means that somebody else in the zone was reeling in the same fish as you, and caught it first, which means the fish on your hook no longer exists. Each fish does have a specific ID, and cant be caught twice at once.
