It's funny because XI was terrible when it launched but I stuck with it regardless for the past seven years and it's been a ridiculously fun ride. I have the same hopes for XIV and people are delusional if they think SE is going to let XIV die.

XIV's main problem was a rush product only to please the shareholders. XIV has potential, but time can be a double edge sword for SE. Better content/refinements come in time, but will the time be too late? Potential is there, don't be jaded. Especially considering XI didn't have a great start either. Those pointing out decent high reviews for XI also seem to forget that it was reviewed for the NA version, not the JP version which was released almost a year before all the refinements to the engine/system.
