Honestly the magic attack bonus isn't even an issue since drk's elemental magic options are a joke and MAB doesn't affect drain/aspir from my testing.
This is however the only body piece drk can get with magic accuracy, and +7 acc on sleeps, drain/aspir and absorbs should be quite noticable.
Unfortunately star sapphire is quite rare and valuable and people tend to trade this at a major markup vs the mats, so whether price is justified by the performance is very open to debate.
It should be said, though, that this is one of the sexiest body pieces in the game on a female char.
Good news.. with Star Sapphire much less rare than it once was (dropping from ANNM) we might see more of these at less steep a price. I for one would be happy to add Magic Acc+7 to my spells. :)
An amazing body piece, but only for the career, endgame Dark Knight. Better casting potential than any other Dark Knight body slots, including more Dark Magic accuracy than the Demon's Harness +1, and More Enfeebling Accuracy than the AF body.
That said, there is a pleathora of items for the same price that are much more important. This is low on a priority list, but by no means not without its charm and use. Being pretty sexy (For a Jerkin model) doesn't hurt none either.
This piece is cast in a new light with the advent of Sanguine Blade for PLD. The effects of this WS are heavily affected by Magic Attack, so this is a nice little macro piece for that particular WS.
Still on the fence about Corselet vs. Nuevo with M.Acc+4 FastCast+5% for DRK casting gear.
Obviosly price is a HUGE factor, but no matter how Fast you Cast, if you don't land your spell then you still suck.
Looks good but thats a lot to get for just looks. The only real use for this is the MAB+ and the MA+...and only if ur a drk that casts a ton of magic (not many of those really unless u wanna get flamed for doing so) Many cheaper pieces over shadow this..
This armor is completely useless. For the body slot, Demon's Harness has 5 Dark Magic skill, and DRK AF body has 5 Enfeebling Magic skill for those concerned about landing Sleeps.
