Sooo for someone whos never watched anime before (other than soul eater) what would you guys reccomend i watch if i wanted to get into something?

Because alot of Anime is so different id have a look at some of the things posted here and have a look. Alot of it is personal taste. I would say Go Shakugan no Shana but others wouldn't (my gf completely didn't get into it lol) so best bet is just take some options from here get comfy and churn a few episodes out.
Also I like Gundam and funnily enough any Tenchi with Kagatao (sp) in it. Such a cool evil guy.

Simple, watch more. Brotherhood is NOTHING like FMA. Agreeably similar at the start, but it deviates a lot. Totally different storyline, and a hell of a lot better in my opinion. Theres more characters, different homunculus, different goals and a lot more.
I really enjoyed FMA when I first watched it, however Brotherhood has blown it out of the water, check it out, I'd recommend it to anyone who likes shonen anime.

Y's Otherwise was a pretty decent anime as well....and um... El Hazard 1, that was a really good one (had to remember the name lol)

and btw just tossing this in. but the whole reason behind making brotherhood....was so there was an anime that actually stayed true to the manga...its the whole point of brotherhood. so dont QQ over that.

really its for kids? i never saw it so :o i love it too. too bad i fell behind on the story, it was great.
How's Dance on the Vampire Bund so far? Was pretty turned off by the first two episodes (too much rori >_>). Then again, there was many animes showing during those weeks... had to drop it :(

Go look at it, the first 3-4 episodes are bad, but the story is so intensive afterwords, the finale leaves you blown off really, my friend, finish it.
lol, actually have most of them downloaded via tokyosho (not all though, stopped as soon as I've finished watching ep. 2). But I guess I'll give it a shot.
