I can make you a PC worth 2k for the price of 500ish in materials, less if I go wholesale for my parts, I can probably get all the parts for 350 or 400. Same parts that a 2k pc would cost you but the difference is I'll overclock ya and fine tune you for gaming and media. They don't do that with PCs at Bestbuy or Walmart. but then again LOL for buying a PC from walmart or bestbuy in the first place 0.0
amen. i started learning how to build PCs about 15years ago. my PC is easily worth 1600 i didnt even spend half that on it. INCLUDING monitor. send me 1500$ ill spend 6-700 on ur pc, and keep the rest as moron collateral

The PC is still costing about double what the console is priced at... and assuming its just the gaming we're worried about.... why pay more for a Lesser or equal to item.... that s going to do the same thing...
Its like.. Why buy..."Gucci" Eyeglasses... over... "Unknown" name brand... they both will have the same stupid lense... you use them to see, you will see exactly the same with either pair of glasses... (Assuming you only want them to see, not to look like Americas NExt top model).

It's not a lesser machine though, in any way. A modern PC out-performs the consoles with ease.

Second: my gfs parents have, I told them to in the very least upgrade to a different protection like Norton 360. They haven't headed my advice but *** it, I'm not fixing their pc again. I had to system restore it to 2 days before their malware infection which I believe was something tied to that McAfee bug in the first place because it left their McAfee corrupted and unresponsive. They don't have the original disk and refuse to call their tech support to have McAfee reconfigure the protection software (as a clean uninstall and reinstall is all I can recommend at this point aside from DITCHING THE POS PROTECTION) but whatever, they are complete morons with computers.

Anyway THE POINT if you go to page one... "Captain Falcon" over here says PC's can run better than consoles, and they are cheaper. Even if its pre-made, I'm making a point that its not, even if you make yourself... it still wont be cheaper.

I cannot play FPS games on a console for ***.
RPG's are controlled better by a controller, I'd like to have a 360 one for my PC for that, but I would hate to macro with it.

I always tell my family/friend to uninstall it. There is better stuff out there and free

and i solidly disagree. i used to swear by ps2 for shooters, ffxi etc etc etc. ps2 finally died. so... got the 360, had it for 55 days, it ***the bricks, sent it back, didnt get it back for over 2 months. by that time i'd built a new PC, started playing ffxi on it, and started playing other games, shooters and such. you can't beat the solid control of a mouse/kb with a controller. i'm sorry its just not as accurate, as fast and as adaptable. not to mention you typically have pre-set configs for controller setups. whereas you can usually fully configure your own kb/mouse sets. not even touching graphics or lag, PC beats consoles there. and 360 had terrible latency for popping mobs, so dont even get me started on that 3day HNM bs haha. i still think the ps2 trumped all in that aspect.
Oh yea, I['m definetally with you on that. Microsoft F@#$ed up, I'm not gonna say no, I personally dont like consoles all that much. But from what I have been seeing with my own 2 eyes O_O

I was just comparing the games on different systems as the developer intended, even after porting it. It's to be expected that communities will tweak up the games, but it's something that shouldn't HAVE to happen for a game to run "normally".
I don't even own a console.. lol :(
It depends on the game, but if two games are developed at the same time with support for both, I find the PC to always be better.
Don't even get me started on PC > Console RTS ports ...

oh yea seriously. the freeware protection outshines most pay for protection in most cases. I keep norton 360 because I didn't pay for the 3 year sub and the newest version of 360 is alot more user friendly then earlier incarnation. I guess its been Trial and error with that company. A few years of fail protection for some decent UI and protection with this latest version.

Yea this is a wholenother topic in itself and a metter of preferance and what the user is used to... I cant stand Mouse and Keyboard FPS, shooter period....
