How do I use the Windower?

What is true fullscreen?
It disables Windower in terms of Windowing the game. You cant alt tab. It only gives you plugins.
How do I load plugins?
If the plugin name is 'Recast.dll', you have to 2 options:
Open the console and type 'load Recast'
In game type '//load Recast'

My plugin Failed to load!
Did you place the plugin file in the Windower/plugins/ folder? ie: Windower/plugins/Recast.dll
Did your plugin come as a .rar or .zip file? If so, this is a compressed file that contains multiple files that need to be placed in your plugins folder. Please refer to HOWTO: Extract Compressed Files
Is the plugin up-to-date for your version of Windower? A 3.26 plugin WILL NOT work for Windower 3.3 or higher!
I hear people talk about a plugin that I do not have! Where can I get it?
There are many plugins that are available but do not come stock with Windower. You may find a listing, with full documentation on how to use them at our Plugins Listing.

My Windower will not load (Crashes on Play)!

I'm using Windower Lite and my controller stops working!
Windower Lite will not work properly for your controller and never will. If you need Controller support use Windower 3.42 (Latest)
I get an error when running launcher and PlayOnline does not open!
Did you edit launcher.ini and set your Language choice correctly?
I get an error when running launcher about sending settings to game!
Check to see if you have security software on your PC that may be blocking Windower from working. If some software asks you to let Windower load PlayOnline, then you must let it do it.
My menus and game UI are gone/weird!
You can not use any applications that skin the game's window like WindowsBlinds or StyleXP. Please add an exception for FFXI in the applications configuration.
You can not play the game with XFire either, it is known to cause problems.
I don't want to use any plugins how do I get rid of them?
Download Windower Lite or read next question.
I need normal windower for gamma changes and using my controller, but I don't want plugins, how can I turn them off?
Go to Windower/scripts/init.txt file, open it and find all the lines starting with 'load <pluginname>'. Edit them so they say '//load <pluginname>' instead, save the changes to the file and open windower.
How do I login 2 accounts at the same time?
Simply rerun the Launcher a 2nd time, you do not need to make copies of Windower to load twice.
How do I use scripting?
Refer to the Scripting Section.
Why is the command line in the windower console input line obscured by the data in the output window?
If you set your fontsize in windows to something other than 100%, the console will not place the input line in the correct place. Set your windows font size to 100% (not 125%).
Why was my forum post locked or deleted shortly after making it?
Because your topic was stupid and you didn't search the forums.
Why are no developers replying to my topic?
Because no developer has an answer for you any different than what's already said on the topic in other threads.
Is there any way I can contact the developer team directly?
Yes, you may come on IRC by WebClient or IRC by Real Client
How can I make plugins for Windower?
You can't. The Windower Plugin API is closed source and will never be released to the public. This is so we can keep windower a safe, and clean program away from hacks and bots.
I'm an experienced programmer, how can I join the team?
You can't. No matter how experienced BruceWillis3442 is at programming, trust is a major factor of people with access to the information. BruceWillis3442 isn't going to come out of nowhere and get on the team when noone in the community even knows who he is. Hanging out in IRC 24/7 is a good way to get known in the event things DO change and more developers are brought onto the team.
How can I help out?
Answering peoples questions on the forums and joining IRC and joining the #Windower-Support channel and answering questions is a good way to help out!
My Launcher will only install Windower and will not load. Keeps asking me to Allow/Don't Allow before loading.
Simply go to Control Panel>User Account>UAC and un-check the box that says User Account Control and RESTART computer.

Just run the windower Pol and you will have a majority of the popular plugins. For the more advanced ones you may want to make some friends with someone that knows how to walk you though it.

You don't use the SE POL anymore. you use Windower's shortcut. It will look like a mandy. Just like what the FAQ says, it will say "Windower enabled" in the title bar when it is running.

If you run Vista, you're gonna have to run the launcher as an administrator or else FFXI will crash upon loading.
