Defenes isn't even a factor, unless he's sitting there in a vit ring, a jelly ring, wearing the highest defense available in each slot, ect. If you're going for evasion, you want the most evasion you can get in that slot and 10 eva > 5. if he wants defense, then he should wear neither hat and find another. If it's haste you want, turban is ya boy.

The same way 3 evasion, 4 agi, and 3 attack isn't going to be noticeable.
Most pieces in this game are marginal upgrades, they're still upgrades. That 1% haste that isn't noticeable at all, that's the same 1% haste ppl pay 15-20m for in the form of dusk gloves+1 vs dusk gloves.

Meh, I'll weigh in. I'm a THF main and I stopped using Walahra and Optical in solo situations because Denali was a fair balance of both.
It adds to defense 21
The AGI mods trick attack (when using NPC fellow)
It adds 4% haste where optical has none
The AGI mods parrying rate while adding 2 evasion
It adds 3 evasion itself, for a total of 5
For that nice balance of both hats, I use Denali. If I find my Accuracy or R.acc is lacking, I swap in Optical. Being a THF sometimes you just NEED those bloody bolts to land.
That being said, in party I would Use walahra and only swap in Denali for Trick Attack. With a high DEX build and capped dagger, accuracy is rarely a problem that squid sushi can't handle.
