Does the Chinese version of Reflection have better lyrics than the English version?
I like the Japanese version's choice of words and the Spanish version also beats out the English. @@;
I'll make a quick translation:
Words in [] are there to clarify meaning, but it sounds better if you don't read them out loud.^^
为什么我却不能够成为好新娘、、Why am I not adequate to be a good bride,
伤了所有的人、、、、、、、、、、、、、causing pain to everyone?
难道说我的任性伤了我、、、、、、、Can it be that my strong will hurts me too?
我知道,如果我再执意做我自己、、I know that if I insist on being myself,
我会失去所有人、、、、、、、、、、、、I will lose everyone.
为什么我眼里看到地,只有我、、、Why is it that when my eyes look to the ground, all I see is myself
却在此时觉得离她好遥远、、、、、、But she [the reflection] seems so far away?
敞开我的胸怀,去追寻去呐喊、、、Open my heart, go search, go cry [out]
释放真情的自我,让烦恼不再、、、Release the real me, let my troubles be no more
释放真情的自我,让烦恼不再、、、Release the real me, let my troubles be no more
Personally, I love both the English (Lea Salonga) and Mandarin (Coco Lee) versions - they're both sung soooo well. Since it was originally written in English, though, I think that's the clearest version. The pop version by Christina Aguilera is kinda... not so great in comparison. XD I mean, it's still good lol but she tries to make the song too complicated. <___<
