Gay marriage's fate in the US Supreme Court is anyone's guess. It most likely will have four conservative judges against it (Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, and Alito) and four liberal judges for it (Ginsburg, Breyer, Sotomayor, and Kagan).
The determining vote will be that of Justice Kennedy, who is an ideological moderate and thus hard to pin down. However, he has been historically receptive to gay rights (Roemer v. Evans and Lawrence v. Texas), and the original decision to strike down Prop 8 quoted him no less than 17 times.
