The tarantula was sweet... when she wasn't shedding. But I'm scared of... wild spiders. Ifrit.Kungfuhustle said: ever seen a camel spider? Those *** can eat Chihuahuas! Slight Information on camel spiders, good close ups though. lol, WHY DID YOU DO THAT. This isn't "problem solved now scare the butts off people with giganto spiders" thread.
Once I got to page 2 I knew someone was going to drop the *** camel spiders. D: I empathize with the bf, though, I'm *** terrified of spiders and roaches. Anytime they get in my room I blockade the door and it turns into arena combat so I don't have to worry about them eating my face in my sleep. I remember this one time my brother was taking a bath and suddenly we hear all these loud crashing noises and water swooshing because a brown recluse jumped in with him. lol lol Cai, that was funny. Spiders do cause some injuries though....even when not directly. When I first got my yorkie puppy, I was in my dining room and saw a HUGE *** spider on the wall, with hairy and spiny *** legs, ***made my balls tingle and hair stand up just from looking at it. So I grabbed a sandal and slowly prepared to kill that ***being careful so I wouldn't miss and it wouldn't get away. Then, my puppy came up to me without me noticing right as I was about to smack the spider, and licked my leg, which scared the ***out of me, and I kind of accidentally dragon kicked my new puppy right in the face.
ewwwwwwwww.
This is now the spider story thread!
My dad told me about his encounter with a Brown Recluse when he was younger. He was cleaning the garage, and picked up this plank of wood, under which he found a Brown Recluse. Well he jumped back, and the spider jumped at him. So he started backing away more and more, but the spider would just follow suit. My dad was freaking out at this point until he realized he was still holding the plank of wood. He looked at the spider, and apparently it was attached to the wood by its web, hence why it was "chasing" him. Well, he felt like an idiot, and threw the wood into the garage and ran out. Yup. >.>; Remora.Morbidthrasher said: lol Cai, that was funny. Spiders do cause some injuries though....even when not directly. Oh my *** god, both of those stories. lolol
I'd feel bad for the dog, but it's totally expected. Everytime I have a bug encounter, every little feeling I have anywhere puts me into "!" mode. D: Kinda like playing a scary game (with bugs in it!) with all the lights off and suddenly someone touches you.

*** Spiders... Seriously...
I don't cower at the sight of them, but the moment those octo-legged *** jump anywhere near me, they're crossing the line that makes me want to squish 'em. Little clarity.
A real Daddy Long Legs (someone put a picture up of one on first page) only has a one-segment body. The Spider many people confuse as the Daddy Long Legs, and the spider that is in question, is the Long-Legged Cellar spider. An entirely Harmless spider. They're actually quite beneficial, as they check the Fly and Mosquito population. Again, they're completely harmless, their venom is about 30 times less potent than a beesting. The only way this thing could kill you, is if you dived into a tank full of a quarter million of them, and then shot yourself in the head. Odin.Zicdeh said: The only way this thing could kill you, is if you dived into a tank full of a quarter million of them, and then shot yourself in the head. And even then, it will be the bullet to the head and not the spiders that... Oh, hoho. Very good! I had a spider chase me once.... I couldnt get away no matter what I did. It was huge too, here's a link to a picture of it.
edit link not working, i'll find another later I live in Idaho, which is a paradise for Hobo spiders apparently. Houses with basements are a haven for them. One place I used to live at, we would find at least 5 a day, because it was such a massive space. These guys are cannibalistic, so we would save the biggest ones until the end of the week and have spider wars. We were bored and mastered the art of the quick capture. Ones that grew out of control fell victim to the hairspray flamethrower.
Also: I once saw a spider that was red and white and totally reminded me of a miniature crab, any arachnid enthusiasts know what it may have been? I'll can offer the protection you need. This is the only logical choice.

I used to be a spray tchnician and worked for an Entomologist. The spider in question from the OP is called a harvestmen spider, and are relativly harmless. They are sometimes confused with the daddy long legs but they are not. You also may have heard the term "cellar spider". In any case, you can get some Indoor/outdoor spider spray from the hardware store and it will give you good results, Harvestmen spiders are very sensitive to chemical insecticides. Just follow the labels recomendation for the application of the product so as not to harm any kids or pets. I hope this is the response you where hoping for. =)
