Endgame: What Job Are YOU Locked Into?

You know, I used to hate on BLU a lot. It used to seem like an all around job, never quite excelling at any one thing. After the last update BLU in my eyes has become a monster and I love em now.

Most jobs have become quite powerful and useful. I can see some of the arguements about PLD going by the wayside, but at the same time if you don't have another tank handy and need someone to hold down a mob while trying to pop !!'s its still useful. I'm curious to see what Torcleaver would do for PLD...and I know Chant de Zoro ws puts atonement to shame.

Love my BLM, so I don't usually have a problem with being "locked" into it, but it does get a little irritating being one of two dependable BLMs in my current shell.

Dependable being properly skilled/merited and realizing that BLM is my main, and gearing as such. I've got SAM, WAR and COR, and they're all pretty well-geared, but my BLM is apparently more desirable to most shells I've been in. What with most BLMs I've seen on Asura being the full-AF-with-a-Witch's-Sash-and-NQ-staves variety.

Anything's better than constantly seeing this when ally is called out though:

I generally just go mnk and get no complaints 90% of the time. Occasionally, I'll be asked to come war or sam for !! proccing, but it's not often.

Only 85's I have are thf and rng

I have DRK, BLM, and DNC at 85. I am predominantly BLM for everything, which is fine because i love playing BLM. Few instances where i come DRK if need be. Never get to come DNC for EG but use it to trio NM's and such.

right now strictly only pup till i complete all the af3 up to at least +1 including the body and hands from next update..and do some more meriting for pld and dnc, and then take them up one at a time to level cap also, doing the af3 for both in the process

BLU was a monster before the update also, just too many gimp shits using full AF giving it a bad name. I'm generally BLU for everything now, so much it can do that I really don't use my other jobs unless for specific purposes (solo/duo).

Pretty much BLU these days. Destroys mobs up front when we are doing TEs. Then I'm used to proc yellow !! a lot.

Usually after we proc yellow !!, I then go back to soloing on exp mobs to keep our TEs up while the rest of the people finish the NM.

BLU really is a beast in abyssea.

I have SAM WHM THF BST RDM BLM. And I *** HATE BLM but am forced into playing it in all endgame.

RDM is almost like BLM...

As for BST there is no place for it in endgame 90% of the time.

And well that leaves THF my favorit job. But without TH4 and 5 no chance in hell I will ever get to play it. And well every Dynamis LS I get into slowly falls apart shortly after I get to top of the list for THF hands. I'm currently at the top of the list and our last dynamis run was canceled and the one before only had 16 people.

Whm.. sometimes Blm.. rarely if ever Rdm... i've got 12x 75+ jobs i can go as, but its like 95% of the time as Whm.

9 times out of 10 I end up going to events as RDM, I don't mind so much because I don't hate the job, it just gets boring when that's all you ever use. On rare occasions I get to go as SAM but its very rare.

If you cancelled a xarc un because you only had 16 people thats fail. We were able to farm a good bit of the zone and take down dynamis lord with 12. I'm sure it can be done with less.

Its kind of like people scared of nyzul isle these days as level 85, don't be scared!

Strangely enough both of my primary jobs, PLD and BLU seem to get equal use these days. Probably because I don't have really any of absolutely essential EGs jobs so I get away with those two jobs in general.

I've got SMN BLU and SAM and i always get told to come whatever I think is useful, so I end up spending 85% of my time on BLU.

@ Ayrne(wish i could go back and get right spelling..but too lazy) we have a few ppl who don't ask what job, they look at the LS list, pick something that is needed and go as that job. If they are asked to change they do...but they stopped asking a long time ago.

I am stuck as Pink mage...(well new ppl in ls so that may be changing).
I prefer to be enfeebling and being a part of "crowd control", doing a bit of everything...not just standing there as doing the haste/ refresh/cure thing. I want to go back to being enfeebler first and healer ssecondary.

BRD... it's one reason I wish I had never leveled the job.

I have WAR, DRG, THF, BST, SAM, MNK and BRD and I pretty much always get told to BRD to endgame events, unless we lack DD then I get asked to SAM very rarely, or if we have a need for pet strategies then I very very rarely get asked to BST...

My advice to you: if you ever plan to level BRD and think you can use another job in endgame: you're dreaming. :P

WHM usually unless it's a kited fight than BLM.

I'm only allowed to come DRG D: I have my choice of subjob though.

RDM and SMN seem to be the only jobs I play for my main shell's events these days. Dynamis I pull out out my DRK, and rarely BLU for Limbus.

Currently I'm working on COR, then probably going to pull my DNC out of attic.

Nowadays I find myself on... not much of anything since being once again squarely situated outside of endgame events. Leveling BLM now so people will leave me alone about not having an honest-to-god mage job. Please tell me this gets better after 50 (in the 20s now).

I thought BLM was pretty fun 46+ tbh.
I took it pretty slow, but soloing from then was fun for a few hours at the time, and well, can probably just get a aby-pt now <_>

And I dont really find myself locked into 1 job.
I play RDM and BLM more than DRK and COR, but that's because of the useless-ness of those two jobs (Usually:P).
And I enjoy playing mages so idc!

I've been really fortunate lately. I'm getting a lot of playtime on THF, and I couldn't be happier about it. I started the game as a THF, it was my first 75, and to this day I still love playing THF. It's my favorite. ^^

I also have BLM and DNC. Like THF, I truly enjoy playing both jobs. I'm asked to play BLM sometimes. As for DNC, I'm rarely on that job.

The best decision I ever made in FFXI was to retire my BRD at 75. I fully realize that my job spread isn't nearly as useful as it once was, but I grew to hate BRD over the years. Even though I once enjoyed playing BRD, it came to the point that I'd rather quit FFXI than play BRD all the time (and I did quit for awhile).

Now that my BRD's retired, I'm left with 3 jobs that I love to play. As a result, I'm enjoying FFXI more than I ever have before.

I'm on rdm always for ls events, I don't mind it though because it's my best geared job & can play it with my eyes closed.

Bard, but it's my FAVORITE job. So it's fun for me

not in endgame anymore, but when I was, perma-BLM -ALWAYS- was so tiring :< especially when you saw gimp melees being melees, when mine were so much better ;^;

Even before the update BLU is still useful, it's one of the best stunner(5 sec recast stun....makes your life much easier in many situations...just ppl never realize how good it is.) and decent dmg if no BRD 2hr(or fighting some high def/eva NM)

Blm,its my best geared job so i love it.
