The only reason no one here likes SCH is because I'm a SCH. And I tend to get a big ego after outnuking BLMs, outcuring WHMs, and being more MP-efficient than anyone while doing so.

Mine's level 18. It was so painful just to get to that point. It's the only job where I just stopped leveling because of how annoying it was. Everything else I would force myself through

I was tempted to do -NIN so I could bump it off because that job is killing me. Level 31 on it. All I want is 37. Glad it got bumped off earlier.

And, yes, I'm sick and tired of "OMG you're not /SCH? GIMP!" or the such. But that's not for this thread and I won't get into it here.

BST is already eliminated, change your vote :)

Regardless of whether or not you like the job, you can't base your love for it on the first few levels. Every job gets better as you go, and SCH is the prime example. Opening up new Stratagems every few levels, and more importantly more charges. SCH is another job that really doesn't become useful until 60+. Just like NIN is pretty lame until 40+.

And I didn't see that BST was out since I didn't backread too much, so I'll change my - to...THF.

Once you get Accession people will <3 you. I've casted Phalax-ga or Stoneskin-ga on a pt and sometimes hear 'SCH is awesome!'. What really makes us look good is when we Accession + Protect IV an all melee party in an alliance. For those who aren't aware, Accession works on any outside parties and in campaign targets upto 24 people if you target an NPC.


I think most probably people find SCH to be a hard job to play because while colored mages can cast any spell at anytime, SCH has to choose a color. You can't easily go Sleep II, Paralyna, Thunder IV and we're limited to 4 stratagems at 70. Luckily they recharge every minute, but the lower levels aren't as fortune.

Enlightenment is a merit JA that totally helps though. Can cast Erase etc without switching back to Light arts. Also the most fun thing to do on SCH is Manifestation+Graviga and kite a whole wave of mobs in Campaign lol.

Aspirga is perfect in Dynamis, with that Dark Obi you get +150 MP per cast or so, and since it can target multiple mobs, you can get all the DRG wyverns at once so they're saved until last. Nothing like getting full MP in half a second.

SCH will always be more mp efficient that blm and whm, but that doesn't mean its better in every way by any means. And I'm not saying this because of you thinking you are so great eternius, don't be full of yourself. I'm saying this because its true.

it's actually stoneskin-ra and phalanx-ra. reason i say this is anything centered on the caster that's aoe is -ra. anything centered on the target that is aoe is -ga. curaga vs shellra? think about it.
