I wish classic rock was still around, but it wouldn't be the same if it was, y'know? I know what you mean, but I hate longing to have lived in the 60s, 70s, and early 80s. You just don't find that kind of talent anymore.
I mean, I can dig some modern metal but..I usually get turned off when the singer(if you can call it that) is either screaming or sounds like they're speaking with a scarf covering their mouth. And their line ups pretty much consist of 2 rhythm guitars and a lead... I now declare this the Lizzy dedication thread. I think musicianship and songwriting has gone waaaaaaaaaay down. Video really did kill the radio star, and indirectly music as a whole IMO.
There are a lot of good pop songs and stuff now but they've got no depth. I've been liking a lot of electronic stuff but I think classic rock will always be my true love. I can't get into metal because I find it lacks soul/emotion It's a bit too techinical for me Speaking of electronic, I think Lady Gaga really has something special even though her songs do lack the depth I find in the old rockers. Even their silly songs had some meaning to them.
But I mean, how many shitty break up songs do you need when you can have one really good one like this? And the beauty in metal I find comes in its technical aspects. At least the reeeally good metal bands. Like when I listen to some of the major biggues like X-Japan, they have the precision of an orchestra. It's a very clean and chilling feeling compared to the "AHWHHR WHSHH FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK WHEGDY SHUFNR DIIIIIIIIIIIE" kinda metal of today. Yeah I like Lady Gaga, catchy songs but like you said, there's not a whole lot to them.
Any my break up song was always: God this song brings back some pretty terrible memories from highschool lol Fenrir.Jammeh said: Speaking of electronic, I think Lady Gaga really has something special even though her songs do lack the depth I find in the old rockers. I rarely pay attention to lyrics, it's the sound of the whole song together. Ah, lyrics are very important to a song. I guess it depends on the band about how important they are, but the charm with Lizzy is that every song tells a story. Like, I know a lot of musicians try to narrate a story with their lyrics but most fail really hard.
This is a performance by X-Japan though, youtube quality sucks wish I could play the music in a lossless format but =(. But yeah, if you listen really hard you can hear the beauty of being technical because it isn't all muddy sounding. Jammalamma has a kewl avatar, almost as tubular as my own.

I dunno why, but lyrics weren't and aren't very important *shrug* But I know what you mean with metal, <3 the harmony. Fairy.Vegetto said: Jammalamma has a kewl avatar, almost as tubular as my own. Why are you busy posting on the internet instead of picking my cotton? Anyway, I hope you are ready for the coming of the Goddess. Carbuncle.Littlevegeta

Been watching too much terminator TSCC lately so...
I feel as though Guetta should be a guilty pleasure, but I think he's a kickass producer
